Without going too deep into the details, my stbxw and I are dissolving our marriage. We’re just starting and have our first attorney consult 1/29.

Trying to be amicable and do what’s best for our two young children above all else.

I expect exorbitant CS because I was the primary income for the home.

We could both drag each other if we wanted to but it’s easier to just say “irreconcilable differences” and move forward through this process.

Getting to the meat of it; what are some things you gents wish you’d known going in? Things to watch out for? Red flags to keep in mind? How do I best protect myself for my future self, while also NOT dragging my children’s mother in a courtroom?

Any advice or words of wisdom appreciated. Comments or DM’s. If you need more info on it I’d appreciate keeping things private.
