A lot of people are talking about the disgusting woman (rightfully so) but I hope that the boys will be okay. My sincerest regards go to the boys and I hope that they can heal from this with unconditional support and care. No child should have to go through such an abhorrent thing. Child rapists are absolute scum of this Earth.

The boy admitted to having sex. Jesus the way they phrase this is a disgrace. The boy was not admitting anything, he's not the one at fault. And it was rape, not having sex. Imagine the outrage if that phrasing was used with genders reversed.

Many of the comments on the article talk about how the punishment is too harsh.

Apparently you can have sentences “too harsh” for adults that use drugs to ply children into sex acts.

Good on the sentence. But did anyone else notice how most of the top comments are how the sentence is "too long" and that boys aren't harmed by this? Kind of shows why female rapists rarely are brought to justice; when it does happen, people are upset

Could that be a result of a whole culture persistently regarding males as the culprits and the ones to blame even when these are children? Whenever young male teens are involved in sex with adult women or female teens, our feminist society depicts them as abusers. I once saw a report in a newspaper website in my country about a teacher having sex with a 13 yo male student, the website asked at the end "who is responsible?" (would that be asked if the sexes were reversed?), with the three options of "both", "he", "she", and the readers' voting was eye-opening: "both" was the highest voted choice. A few years earlier a few male teens had sex with an adult woman that apparently used to invite them over, the case was covered as a rape and abuse incident of the woman by the teens. The woman was described as suffering from mental illness and the boys as taking advantage of her condition. I was amazed. That reporting was the first time I asked myself if we live in equality under the law. I wrote an article to the newspaper that published the item, which was a newspaper I publish in myself, and didn't even receive a response from the editor. I asked in that article, how would that item look like if this was a man having sex with girls and then saying that he was suffering from a mental condition - would anyone care at all that he has some mental condition? Would that make the girls the ones responsible and abusers of an adult? Since then we have all seen hundreds of reports in the media on cases where boys and teens are involved in sex with adult women and are presented as culprits - and now I'm asking if women who live in such a society, and read all these messages that teach them to regard males as always the ones to blame, as adults regardless of their age - rapists by birth - would women in such a society be able to regard children and teens as children and teens? Will all of them be able not to develop a perception that they are "only doing the boy a favor - sex with all women including myself is what they are all about and they always want it"? I have read a sign written by a teen girl as part of the "I don't need feminism because" campaign, that said "because when I told my feminist friends that my young brother was raped by a woman they laughed and said that I should be happy for him because they all want it. My brother has autism". What women and girls does the feminist society we live in is raising? Can they think of men and boys as human? And while this systematic dehumanization and demonization of males is probably the most aggressive part of our reality today, this is also the most forbidden and banned subject to speak about. The result can only be that a mother, a person who literally has children and knows children, could abuse and assault children. Since Me Too there was a doubling in charges pressed against women in the UK for pedophilia. There is a price to pay for telling half of humanity that it is incapable of causing harm because all human suffering comes only from the other half. What the recipients of such a message would hear is that nothing they can do can be violent and wrong and nothing done to the other half of humanity can be immoral. The price is therefore teaching half of humanity never to restrain violence. I know for a fact, that this sexual violence is being reported only when children are involved, but has risen toward men of all ages. One half of humanity received a license to be an abuser. Those in this half that tend be aggressive or have trouble restraining themselves, consistently hear from society the message that they can't possibly be responsible for violence. And this is probably part of the result.

Equal sentencing or not, 64+ years for sexual assault and child abuse is too much I think. US justice system at it again. This is true for men too, obviously. Sentences are way too long.

At this point you can't even say it's too punitive - punishment stops being punishment 10-20 years down the line, and becomes the personality of the individual. They become a member of the prison, no longer someone who is punished there. 64 years is essentially a life sentence - for molesting children? Come on! Nobody wins by this. Taxpayers will have to pay for her for the rest of her life, and she sure as hell won't learn a lesson she can apply, because she'll be "learning" for the rest of her life.

This might seem like a men's rights achievement, but I'd rather view it as an opportunity to show the disfunctionality of a for-profit justice system coupled with protestant "fuck you, you're evil" ethics.
