Today a teacher handed the girls in my class some flyers to attend a meeting, organized by the school, against the bullying that boys inflict against girls. Obviously boys are not invited and there is no meeting on bullying inflicted by girls towards boys. Putting the obvious sexism aside, isn't that a very stupid decision made by the school, even in a practical way? As far as I know bullies tend to bully people of their own sex, at least in school, and therefore bullying of boys towards girls is rarer than that of boys towards boys or girls towards girls. So wouldn't it make more sense to organize a single meeting for all students against bullying in general? It would have been much more beneficial. Bah.
