Great speech. Hard to watch as im a alienated father for 14 yrs. Family court costs so much money that i dont have. (And thats even if i get a fair judgement).

Made me cry. I have been in court every year for the past 9 yrs and spent over 60k fighting for my right to be a parent. Fighting against the court biases and false accusations. I am finally broke with no credit. I gave everything up to get the right to be a parent.

Although I will be broke and in debt to the state of California for the rest of my life, I was able to be a father to my son so far.

I am in a bad spot. I have to pay for catholic private school, be with my son for 40%, and try and figure out how to make enough money to cover bills. The court puts us in absolute impossible positions.

Some of my favorite take-aways:

Nearly 2 out of 5 children in America grow up without their fathers, low estimates include 16,000,000 children, with some estimates going as high as 30,000,000 fatherless children
CDC estimates that fatherless children account for 90% of homeless children, 71% of high-school dropouts, and 63% of youth suicides
The benefits of fathers in families are complex and not fully understood, but according to the data, they are statistically undeniable. Despite this, because these benefits are not understood, they are generally discounted in society
US Law has been making some positive changes to better address the inequality in family and divorce courts, however the law still appears to heavily favor women
An example: it is still completely legal in all 50 states for a mother to hide a pregnancy from a man, lie on a birth certificate about the real father, and give a man who is not the father full legal custody, without repercussions or adequate avenues for the real father to contest

One of the key mistakes that I often see activist communities make, is that they alienate anyone who is not "them" because the community assumes that these "outsiders" cannot understand the struggles of those within the community, or because they assume that the "outsiders" are "virtue signaling".

The result is that the community or group loses allies that it would have otherwise had to support it.

In other words, please try to remember, that women are not the enemy. The legal system is the enemy. Societal Norms are the enemy.

But women are not your enemy.

For those of you who have been adversely affected by the legal system, or societal norms, or any other metaphysical threat that opposes men's rights, I extend my condolences, and I mean that, but your ex-wife, or your child's mother, or your own mother, is merely acting within a system that grants them advantages that we (men) are not afforded.

I won't say that you can't hate those people who have hurt you, but we must not forget that those people are not emblematic of all women.

If you want to discriminate against an entire gender, you don't belong here. Go to an Incel board.

If you want to affect true change, remember that the goal is education and advocacy.

We unfortunately see a lot of people who think women are the enemy on this sub, and it leads to outsiders believing that everybody here believes that. Feminism is the real enemy, and compared to what you’d think few women are actually feminists, it’s just a certain few that fuck everything up
