How many RWP are childfree? What are your reasons?

I'm childfree because of the fact that they are money, energy, and life drains. Also, because I wouldn't be a very good mother. I can hardly take care of myself, let alone a whole other being. I know that I'm not the most patient person. When I see a baby, I don't want to coddle it, I want to poke at it and see what makes it tick. It ends up working for me and my SO, because he's childfree as well. He is red pill as well, and views them as a burden, and understands in the current system it is not in his best interest to have any. I take the energy I would use to take care of a kid, to take care of my SO and myself.

To those who are childfree with a partner: Do you never have any lingering fear of your SO changing his mind when you are past child-bearing age and then having to leave you to start a family?

Bearing children is a biological drive. Acting on those feelings is a choice only you and your SO can make for yourselves.

I have a teenagers. But my friend's four month old makes me ache. I can't wait till my boys get married and have children.

I don't see it as the main prerogative whatsoever. The main prerogative is my relationship and even IF a child was in the picture that's still the way it would be.

We do not have children nor do we want them. My SO runs a few businesses and barely has time to spend with me as is and I know for a fact he would want to have much more available time to give to his child despite me being able to handle the majority of it. The time he does have off he doesn't want to do anything except relax with me and do fun things that are not kid friendly or children would be more of a chore. We have one dog and she is all we need in that aspect. I cook her food daily, work her out, play with her, love her, etc. Sure, she isn't a human, but that doesn't make her any less of family or mean I have no "motherly" responsibility by doing all of this for her. It's just in a far different context and less of an extent.

I never wanted to put a child of mine through the trauma of childhood, and my husband agrees. As strong INTJs, school for us was a hellhole of noisy little idiot bullies. High school was fun though as soon as I figured out how to skip out :)

My fiancé and I were both childfree before swallowing the pill, and since we swallowed it, our opinion hasn't changed on the matter. We know some people with young children, which were at our friend's parties, and even if as a family they were adorable to see, it made us realize even more that we definitely don't want children. Some of the reasons we share are :

Too much responsibility
Lack/loss of freedom
Financial burden (After my studies I will work only part-time to take care of the house. With children, maybe I would have to work full-time in order to pay for the diapers, etc, and neither my fiancé nor I want that.)
Not enough fur (we love cats)

One of the reasons I have is that I don't want to neglect my fiancé because of taking care of a child. I want to be available 100% for my fiancé, and I'd rather bake him some fancy food than change diapers.

If he would want children, I would reconsider my position. But since we both don't want them, we're on the same page.

No I don't see it as my main prerogative. I take care of my man. I take care of my nieces and nephews when need be.

If my SO and I were to have kids, it would be prone to addiction with terrible skin, awful eye sight, and bad anxiety. I have had enough minor health stuff to know that it wouldn't be a good idea for me to have a child. I actually had a doctor very concerned about part of me if I were to have one.

We love to travel, we love to have a good time, we enjoy our home being fairly tidy, we like very nice meals (either cooked at home or out).

A child isn't in our budget. He jokes that I have two children, he and the dog. The dog is spoiled rotten. I also volunteer for the rescue that she came from.

I will continue to spoil my man, my almost in laws, and my family.

I guess I'm a little in the minority, I kind of do see childbearing as my main purpose as a woman.

I plan on having a fair few, I'm 22 now and due with my second. Thinking we'll probably make it to four before I'm 30 and then shut up shop down there. I remember being so worried when we got married that we would struggle to conceive (it's so common to have issues it seems), but thank goodness we've had two easy conceptions and two fairly easy pregnancies so far :)

I have loved seeing my husband become a father. It makes my heart melt to see him play with our little girl and make her giggle. She's not even one yet and already she is enamored with her daddy.

No kids are coming out of me. I raised two children from the time I was 11 to 18. I will gladly foster/adopt but I just don't want one of my own. Plus my husband and I are both carriers for a number of genetic disorders.

It's kind of weird, my husband and I always lent towards being childfree then I found out I couldn't have kids anyway.

We have fur kids anyway :D

It depends on the person. I do not have a biological family (estranged and most have died) so it is just me and my husband. I desperately want to have healthy children to continue the family line and so far I've had two miscarriages, which is really scary. Since I'm relatively on my own, it's pretty important to me. We're looking into having both biological and adopted children. I'm 26 and I'm worried I won't have enough time to have at least 2.

My husband is a baby magnet. Kids just can't stop staring at him and following him around. He's a bit creeped out by it, but I think it's adorable.

Currently, we're child-free. Marriage isn't even on the table for at least a couple more years or so, and children are something we've discussed but haven't expressed a true want for right now. Perhaps our minds will change by the time we're married, but for now, we're very much child free and plan to stay that way.

I don't think it's a requirement but it's important to me. For awhile I dreaded the possibility of having kids because it felt like an end of the road thing. But it's just the beginning. It helps that my bf has always wanted kids. A future family is part of his motivation to succeed professionally. Also, at one point I was afraid I couldn't have kids bc of a cancer scare (I'm 25) that made me think about it. It's funny to realize how badly you want something once the option could be taken away.

I was vehemently anti child. Then I just woke up one day and thought, "it's time". 3 months later we conceived and now I want another, after being vehemently anti multiple children for 2 years. Again, it was like a switch flipped. Complete 180 out of nowhere. My brain likes to make life interesting.

the exact opposite here! I just LOVE babies and I can't understand how anyone can not love them. and my husband actually only married me because he wanted to have children, he doesn't believe there is any point to marriage without children, he even had me get tests done on my hormone levels and an ultrasound of my ovaries before he would marry me because there is such a problem with women being infertile nowadays. even then he decided he would not marry me unless I got pregnant first. he has said there is no way he would ever get married if he didn't want children, if he didn't he would just stay single and play the field forever.
