So, I went on r/AskFeminists, and asked what rights exactly women were fighting for. This is the best they could give. They even blooocked me from the suub, so I couldn't rebuttal back.

Basically, these women genuinely think that men expect you to never be mean, and never be rude, just because you lack a Y chromosome. Wondeful logic. I may be mistaken, but do any of you guys actually know men who expect all women to ALWAYS be nice?

I want to see her reaction to the gender wage gap being debunked infront of her face

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points34 points 6 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

I would do that of course, but Ive already been banned from the sub, and no amount of logic can convince a feminist that operates on sheer emotion. I have a feeling they know they are wrong, because if they were genuinely right, why would they feel the need to silence my voice?

Edit: I've been banned from this sub too lmao. You would think that this sub would be more tolerable to difference of opinion, but sike.

I talked to a middle aged feminist once I responded to her saying something like feminism fights for equal pay and wage gap I explained to the wage gap and then depunked it she started throwing a tantrum and calling me a sexist pig, I had to leave because she threatened to attack me if I wouldn't and I'm a kid and can't fight no fatass whale

gender pay gap is in fact not real. Will I bother explaining why or do you accept that already?

and I'll ask you the same question as above, what rights are you fighting for? women get sexualized & raped more & that's it really.

even though it's illegal an employer is led likely to hire you if he thinks you'll have kids soon (esp if it's a small business) but if not you'll often get jobs dispite having fewer qualifications then other men that applied due to a quota/stress on employers to increase diversity.

I can't think of anything else women are at a disadvantage for.

[–]goddess_above 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"I can't think of anything else women are at a disadvantage for" If you are talking about The Law then that makes two us us. The legal battle is over, the social battle goes on.

Wage gap is not real. It's a political buzzword used by Democrats to rattle and trigger the masses into further stupidity.

Yes we get sexualized and sexually molested far more often than men. That is one of our issues and it has to do with social attitudes just as your own issues have to do with society's perception of men as disposable utilities and cannon fodder for wars.

[–]TehReedster89 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is my stance, and I would imagine it's the case for most MRAs. To deny that women still face social stigma and problems would be stupid. But men face many social issues as well. To me, that's just part of the spice of life. There are upsides and downsides to the way I was born. As a man, I avoid certain downsides of being a woman, but I have other downsides of being a man.

The issue is that society as a whole is willing to talk about the ways in which women face social problems, but ignore the ways in which men face social problems.

And that's made much worse when you factor in that men also face legal problems. Both genders face social issues, but men also face legal issues. So the fact that feminism is much more acceptable to society than men's rights groups is pretty telling.

[–]goddess_above 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I am aware of the issues men face but I am not wonder woman, I cannot solve all the world's problems so instead I just try to focus on the attainable ones within my person and only within my lifetime. This is actually a strategy is learned from men. I have a lot of empathy for men because 1st I have a dad that I love and 2nd, a lot of other men in my life like my uncles, brothers, and nephews who I also love plus my male friends. I do not fear men because I know them, and I know myself, I know my strengths and weaknesses as a woman.

The very first time I became aware of men's issues was when I started to come across the notion of male utility and disposability because my dad had to work long hours and I'd get mad how his job was taking him away from me. My mom would explain it as just his job "needing" him and yet this job did not give a crap about him if he was sick or unable to perform his duties, all it did was demand of him his utility in exchange for money. He was just a tool to them, just a disposable machine that they can replace if he got sick of died. That made me angry and scared how it dehumanized my dad and especially how I felt it was taking him away from me. Then also the idea that my dad and my brothers in the event of a conflict they are just expected to fight and die not to save me and my mom but to save the system that dehumanized them. That was the last straw for me and I was barely in high school.

This is why I believe that access to fatherhood is a human right. I know Men's Rights activists fight to have access to children but I go one step further and stress the fact that the children themselves have a fundamental and inalienable right to have access to their fathers. So when the state takes fathers away I see that as a human rights violation against children.

The majority of feminists are estranged to men though, they feel alien to them, as if men are whole other incomprehensible creatures to them. These "other" feminists aren't actually interested in femininity nor interested in learning about their own nature in contrast to men's because they they are gender nationalists or worse, gender militants.

I trust that men are pretty adept at facing and then solving their issues individually and collectively, otherwise what was that whole Renaissance and Enlightenment, and Revolutionary and Civil Rights business all about throughout history?

You guys need to start compiling knowledge about your own masculinity in order to make headway in these issues the way women did with feminism. The reason men never saw fit to create masculism as a perspective is because it was the world's perspective by default and now that women have asserted their own you all forget that yours was always the norm and you act confused as to where the boundaries of masculinity and femininity lie.

Do you know why there is such a strong opposition to the very idea of Men's Rights from both other men and women? When you learn the reason why this point of view is so unacceptable to so many people you will also learn a truth about what it is to be men. It has nothing to do with feminism, even if feminism did not exist you would still be opposed by both genders. Dare to question why.

[–]Uesugi1989 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Our society is built on capitalism. If women were paid less from men for the same job, no one would hire men

[–]TehReedster89 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have a feeling they know they are wrong, because if they were genuinely right, why would they feel the need to silence my voice?

"When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say."

Take notice how feminist subreddits treat outside viewpoints compared to this subreddit. We might disagree, but we allow the discussion to happen. That's what happens when you have the facts on your side: an open discussion is a good thing for your cause. Feminists know deep inside that they don't have any leg to stand on, so they silence anyone who disagrees. They shut down men's rights rallies and meetings in public. They ban anyone from their subreddits who have different viewpoints, etc.

They know they are wrong, and their best bet is to silence anyone who might point that out.

[–]goddess_above 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You mean how the wage gap is due to men working insane hours and on insane fields of work that women avoid? Why would my reaction amuse you? Did you think I'm some stupid person that believes in propaganda? Guess again buddy. I'm an actual feminist, not those pink haired clowns pushing men's buttons you see on YouTube videos. I used to work retail, and my female manager wasn't agreeable at all. That already destroys one their points.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly. Ive met plenty of asshole women in the USA, personally. I may be wrong, but I think it has to do with this:

So basically dating is basically a sexual market place. You are essentially trying to compete for the best people. However, in a place like USA, where obesity is such a gigantic epidemic, half of all women, are grossly overweight, and therefore unattractive af.

And, so, as a result, the other half of women, who are normal, and not fat, have their SMV (sexual market value) literally doubled, as a result. Therefore, they can be as entitled, and as bitchy as they want without any repurcussions, because they know they're already a prized commodity.

Also, the whole new wave radical feminism movement has turned most women in the USA into egocentric entitled assholes, who think they are some sort of unique gem, just because they are a woman.

[–]Nerfixion 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hear what she is saying, but i think the issue is more about bad leaders rather than society seeing women as bad leaders. What she is talking about happens to men as well. Some people have charisma and when they lead is feels right, some dont. I'm just see it on a person by person thing.

If you're the type of person who goes into a rage because someone disagreed with you, you're a bad leader basically.

[–]Lethn 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is how you trap them, because they don't have any direct points anyway you simply ask them what they really believe about certain issues. Then they often oust themselves for the ridiculous people that they are, it's so damn easy to catch out feminists by asking them for example if they believe in the patriarchy. It is not a moderate position to believe in anti-male conspiracy theorists.

You've revealed more about their mentality when it comes to social issues and so on. They're basically looking to harass and indoctrinate men into behaving a certain way that only they approve of. People who know about feminism of course have known about this for some time now but it's hilarious when you can get them to just come out and admit it.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most women are not usually socially or casually nice. Men don't even usually like their male bosses- it's not secret. This purely in their own minds. Not everyone is going to like you and that has nothing to do with your genitals.

[+]Levantine141 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Women aren't expected to act any certain way more than men are. Feminists are just cry babies. There are plenty of competitive women in positions of power who don't give a shit what people expect them to act like. Men and women are both victim to bullshit expectations, but to think you can "change people's attitudes" to solve this issue is delusional at best. Feminism is a dead ideology with no valid reason for it's existence in 2020

Not to mention that the right to abortion in most western and European countries is impossible to change. That right is set for life now. So I'm not sure what more they want for their "BoDiLy AuTonOmy"

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Ive met a shit ton of female jerks. If anything, one of my min wage jobs a while back (Im 18 lol), was ran by a female jerk. Women actually don't give a shit, and I don't either expect you to be nice, just cause you are a woman. And Im pro choice.

[–]Rockmapper_ 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I see where they are coming from and is why that level of "feminism" may be needed, like a safeguard to prevent social stigmas. Although it not necessarily wide spread, it ultimately exists and addressing it is always good. However, it is a utopian view to fully eradicate almost anything.

[–]Oncefa2 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with them on that point.

The problem you'll eventually run into is getting them to admit that men can also face similar issues. And that's in addition to actual legal and institutionalized discrimination that affects men.

It doesn't have to be a contest and I guess I can see women caring more about things that affect them. But they often act like men face no discrimination anywhere (or at least it's not serious compared to women's issues).

I'm having a discussion with someone in pointlessly gendered right now about exactly this. Ironic given the sub name -- isn't it pointlessly gendered to pretend that women are the main victims of sexism?

[–]Rockmapper_ 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely! Could not fault you there!

[–]Lily-in-the-Valley 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok so they are basically waiting for machines to replace men.

[–]LegendaryEmu1 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agreeable and pleasing...actually thats a natural thing, women are naturally, without any real outside influence, more agreeable, and it has been noted by lots of people, including Jordan Peterson that women tend to succeed more if they are less agreeable, and he encourages such if they want to succeed. Saying they suffer when they are less agreeable is blatantly false. When people are bad at being in charge their job suffers, many people have tales of the woman boss or whatever who thinks being the boss lets them be a complete ass.

As for abortion and healthcare laws, healthcare, i can understand to a degree, but since women globally use more health services than men(of whom taxes go toward funding), i think restructuring, rather than changing would be better. As for abortion...i mean they're not perfect, but they already give women 100% of the decisions around her pregnancy as is, so i have no fucking clue what you could push for there. I can only guess they think some man in the US of A is keeping them from having abortions whenever they want or something.

[–]goddess_above 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What Peterson doesn't mention is how it takes a psychological toll when agreeable people are forced to be disagreeable because of their job. This affects even men. Only a small percentage of men have the temperament to be assertive all the time and not buckle under the pressures of constant risk-taking and responsibility.

As a woman I take more joy in cultivating the leadership skills of men and nurturing their progress rather than in taking the reigns of power myself, it just feels more easy and natural for me when the men I am supposed to be in charge of take their own initiative because I feel more comfortable and confident in nurturing their skills instead of using up all my emotional energy in getting them to tow the company line against their will.

I earn their respect through showing competence but once I have their respect I prefer to share my authority and power with them. Men are naturally more productive and energetic when they do things of their own accord and not just following orders. Also, these men do not see me as a threat either. The only ones who are insecure around me are the older men stuck in that 1950's mentality. Younger men are more easy going and relaxed and do not feel any type of insecurity around me because I like to nurture their initiative and direct their energy rather than boss them around or brown beat them into compliance.

[–]goddess_above 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What is this "Women" you speak of? You asked a question and I answered, and last time I checked I am only one woman and not all women. Also, I am not the president of women either so I do not speak for all of us.

If you're interested to hear in what I actually have to say please stop twisting my words and listen to what I say and not to what you think I said.

I don't have a whole lot of patience for straw man arguments, especially when they are directed at me, so if anyone has any legit questions just ask me and I will answer as best as I can and only if I can. I do not know everything.

[–]Yoramus 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't understand those people. Once the actual poster of an answer wants to interact with you you don't take the opportunity.

I happen to like your answer. I don't understand what the criticism is all about.

There are societal gaps between the treatment of women and men. At times a woman can be advantaged (e.g. society is more protective to her because of the empathy gap) at times a man can be advantaged (e.g. his authority is questioned less because of expectations).

If feminism consisted in what you say it consists in, i.e. promoting equality in laws and supporting women at a societal level where they are disadvantaged, personally I'd see it rather positively.

My experience, and I suppose the experience of many here, is that many 'feminists' promote a narrative that at a societal level demonizes men unfairly, fights to label women victims even in situations where they are not, and poses damaging expectations on men, all the while promoting unequal laws in favor of women, and still saying they are for equality.

[–]goddess_above 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a Pink Pilled Feminist, I am not in line with mainstream feminism because I do not believe the victim industrial complex of modern PC culture and I do not see myself as a participant in the oppression Olympics that it promotes. I think we are a new breed of feminists that is retaliating against 3rd wave feminism because we believe the first wave already reached it's goal and 2nd wave became muddled with communism. We say Pink Pill in reference to the Red Pill as those guys take it as a metaphor for seeing reality for what it truly is. A feminist with her eyes opened to reality is Pink Pilled. We see the BS of Feminist politics and especially 3rd wave feminism.

It's all a mess so we are just adopting a Feminist world view fit for the individual woman instead of this identity politics BS. That is why from the very beginning I said I speak only for myself. Why am I a feminist at all? Because in asserting my true femininity I am defying identity politics which prefers to do away with my gender and equalize me to men. I like being a woman and whoever says that I shouldn't be happy and comfortable with my gender and enjoy feminine things can go... you know. I'm a feminist because I choose to assert my femininity in a world that would rather I didn't.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are two kinds of questions on AskFeminists:

  1. Those that are just blowing hot air up their asses. Examples are "Who is the greatest feminist woman you know?" and "How did becoming a feminist help you?" These get highly upvoted and discussed at length.

  2. Those that are actually hard-hitting but get downvoted instantly. These are overwhelmingly responded to with deflections and non-answers.

[–]DontAskWhoBenIs 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You got banned for insulting. Also, ur replies are disgusting. Your assuming all women are jerks and being sexist to women. Your also saying fat women are unattractive so, the attractive ones can be bitchy. Wouldn’t the same logic applies to men? The strong ones can be bitchy, while the weak ones are unattractive.

[–]SharedRegime 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"we are fighting to change attitudes" well pack up miss because you cant really do that especially not when you keep shouting killallmen.

[–]throwaaaaaaay123 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What she saying is that women are expected to smile and be agreeable and then when they are in charge and act accordingly they seen as aggressive and bitches just because they are assertive. What I take it as.

[–]goddess_above 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is exactly what I was saying. To build on top of that I also believe that being in charge involves the ability to lead and inspire more than to just terrorize subordinates into action. I leaned my own leadership skills from men in my life that I admired and I am lucky to have had some really cool bosses who made me want to follow their lead instead of stressing me out.

I am also conscientious of the fact that we cannot imitate men's brand and methodology of leadership 100%. Why? This may come as a shock to modern PC culture but here goes: Women are not Men! Shocking! As women we must adopt our own leadership style that best suits our own natural demeanor as well as the attitudes of those whom we lead. This will not be easy but it can be done. Not all women can be leaders just as - obviously - not all men have what it takes to be in charge.

All I was saying in my original comment is that as a feminist I want to be able to exercise my own instincts and talents in my own feminine way without having to twist myself into a man's mold. That is what modern feminism is about, changing attitudes and social viewpoints in order to make these changes possible. The legal aspects of feminism are only those that pertain to specific legal issues that women face and which men either don't care about or aren't concerned with such as our birth control, abortion, our menstruation issues on the job, etc.

[–]Ukman_44 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I laughed when I read the point that women are expected to be agreeable - seriously? In my experience the world is full of disagreeable women :-)

[–]solinar -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably for the best. Not sure exactly what it is that you would like to rebut on that response. Looks like you went there looking for a fight, and were disappointed when you didn't get one.

[–]SBEAST666 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
