So I hope this is appropriate.

I'm currently in the process of dropping out of medical school and looking for a new major. I'm 22 and have spent three years in med school (I'm German and we dont have to do that pre-med college stuff, we go straight to med school here). It's made me miserable. I feel like I cant even hold a conversation anymore because all I have time to think about is my school work in order to somewhat keep up. I started it because at 19 I thought I was going to be „married to my job“ with a husband that will take care of the children. I was raised by a feminist single mother so it's all I really knew. But I have learned about myself that working all day doesn't make me happy. I miss having hobbies and time to keep up with the news and an opinion on world events. I'm thinking about getting a degree in Geography and then a masters in regional development and tourism or becoming a biology, geography and English teacher. I am in a relationship with a great guy who I can see myself starting a family with, even though I know I'm not supposed to say that after roughly 5 months of dating. He has a job that requires him to move a lot so I'd like a job that I can do basically anywhere.

So my question is: do you have any advice on my school work? I don't want to make myself depend on him completely and tuition is 61 Euros a semester so I won't be in excruitiating student loan debt . And what do you ladies do and what did you go to school for?

I'd appreciate any advice.
