Kinda an ESH scenario here. The guy offering help did it in the most offensive way possible to the woman by actively belittling her rather than just saying “that thing looks heavy, happy to be a third pair of hands”.
She then reacts physically rather than verbally which is pretty crappy. Assuming she actually made contact with his face rather than just doing a close up ‘talk to the hand’ style gesture.
[–]Fanluna 8 points9 points10 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Definitely ESH. Reading the other comments make it seem like men can't actually say anything wrong - maybe she didn't exaggerate what he said and did come off as offensive, unlike what everyone else here seems to be thinking.
She didn't make contact according to her edit, but getting a hand up in people's faces just makes you look like a bitch regardless.

[–]Soylent_Green_Food 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Agree. Sounds like an embellished story.
Dude probably asked if they needed help and left when they said no. She then had to embellish the story for online karma. Who says "are you serious, you're gonna let her help you?". Likelihood of that being a true story is between 0-1%.
[–]mr-logician -1 points0 points1 point (5 children) | Copy Link
No, only the woman is guilty, because she physically attacked the man and deserves to go to jail; the man was just exercised his freedom of speech.
[–]SomethingSpecialMayb -1 points0 points1 point (4 children) | Copy Link
Freedom of speech doesn’t stop you being an ass at times.
[–]mr-logician 4 points5 points6 points (0 children) | Copy Link
The response was completely unacceptable though, and should be prosecuted as a crime.
[–]Mackowatosc 0 points1 point2 points (2 children) | Copy Link
You being an ass does not mean she has a right to assault you. Thats called felony where I live, and hopefully, would end up with her dead for assault.
[–]SomethingSpecialMayb 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Don’t you think that’s a bit excessive? Death because you shoved your hand in someone’s face?
As a side note, in the original thread it was confirmed that she didn’t make contact with his face. So still a rude overreaction, but not assault or battery as some are calling it.
[–]Mackowatosc 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
this changes things ;)
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] -5 points-4 points-3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Right but she said she SHOVED her hand in his face meaning it was a rushed and aggressive gesture, not a non aggressive one like talk to the hand which isn’t shoving your hand in someone’s face. The guy did word his sentence badly, but battery (shoving your hand in someone’s face sounds like battery) is a very extreme response to a guy using shitty language to offer help.
[–]cal1225 18 points19 points20 points (1 child) | Copy Link
The way she sais it sounds like she makes it sound a lot worse than it is, i bet the guy was nice about and just wanted to help, but being a radical feminist she is she thought it was a personal attack, the mods over there ban inoffensive comments but allow feminists to generalize ALL MEN.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link

Where I work, you have to go hide to avoid women asking you to lift things for them. These tiny women apply for these jobs knowing damn well they can’t lift half of what’s required and they assume the guys will be there to do it for them. Get your shit together.

Ok so women are just as strong as men.
Meaning there's no difference between a man hitting a woman and a woman hitting a man. So they will all join with us to remove VAWA and Duluth and treat female abusers the exact same as male abusers.
Also no more lowering physical standards for firefighters, soldiers, etc.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh yeah ofc. I mean since when have feminists not done the fair thing instead of what gives women even more extra rights? Not like they have the right to vote without signing a draft form -_-
[–]NotherThrowaway284 5 points6 points7 points (1 child) | Copy Link

This is actually great. Women putting white knights in the place is the only way to deal with them. Teach them that their sexist nice guy attitude isn't okay.
[–]Lethn 6 points7 points8 points (1 child) | Copy Link
The problem I have is these idiots inevitably use it as an excuse to go "Yes all men" thinking that because they encounter an arsehole in the street that's representative of the whole gender and they know everything.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup. At least we’re better than them, knowing that there are good women out there too luckily. :-)
[–]N19864 7 points8 points9 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Was he even white knighting or was he helping another man? If you see a guy struggling down your street with some furniture, it's normal to offer help if you are able to. White knighting he is not from this.
This bit, I am not too sure he even said that. Feminist lie, it's hard to trust the
boygirl(s) who cried wolf too many times.[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]somedudefromerlange 5 points6 points7 points (5 children) | Copy Link
Yup. Saying 'I feel sorry for your boyfriend' got me banned. They truly are the worst.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (4 children) | Copy Link
Yup. I got banned yesterday on a post where they proposed banning alcohol because it makes men (and women, but ofc they can’t say that cus it’s feminism) more dangerous and angry. I got banned for saying we should help young men and give them therapy so they don’t drink, meaning no violence at home for many alcoholic families with violent fathers, and ofc that would stop many violent alcoholic boyfriends. I also said I knew it would work bc my uncle was an alcoholic. Still got banned for saying that. All because I sAid I’m an MRA to try to show some MRA’s just wanna talk. All they wanna do is oppress and silence other opinions when they know they are right.
[–]somedudefromerlange 1 point2 points3 points (3 children) | Copy Link
The drunk men are a danger to women post? Yeah. That was yesterday. If you sort by controversial on that one you'll see that they are eating themselves from within. Some think it's just nonsense because how the prohibition didn't work out. But some are really radical, damn. I feel sorry for them. I wonder if hate subs like that will ever get banned. Sorry about your uncle situation man. Had an uncle like that and he ended up a vegetable because of alcohol.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Yup. It sucks. I’ve never before seen a more intolerant sub. Even TwoX is better, and that’s the first time I’ve ever said that. Actually nah MensLib is just as intolerant. They just want unchallenged opinions and false facts.
[–]somedudefromerlange 1 point2 points3 points (1 child) | Copy Link
I guess some people are not to be discussed with. I can get that. But if I get affected in a negative way because of nonsense, I can't back down. Sometimes words are weapons.

Oh fuck right off with this one. Stop pretending because you're a "strong independent woman" that you now have more physical strength than a man.
He offered to help you. HELP YOU! Instead of being polite you actually have the nerve to "assault him"?
You literally need a man to tell you how to behave, apparently, because you sure as shit aren't all that. Had you been a man and put your hand on someone's face you would have gotten bitch slapped.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely.
[–]GotSomeMemesBoah -2 points-1 points0 points (0 children) | Copy Link
That guy wanting to help wanted to help carry the couch instead of her, as if his extra strength actually does anything when you're just supporting the other side of a couch with her bf. Also, you sound like a fuckin nice guy (hate that term a lot but I'd rather be blunt than pussyfooting with another) with the "wanted to help you" and "instead of being polite" shit. Also the guy didn't offer to help her, he offered to help her boyfriend.
Oh and btw she didn't hit him, she confirmed that she just did it as a "stop" sorta motion.
E: I get that going against the PO in these minis will get you downvoted, but come on. I do like this subreddit but when people go full retard and create mini threads like this where people get encouraged to also go full retard, it becomes quite tiring. Especially since these posts (comments more so but at least with this mini, there are some sane people) damage the MRM on reddit more than r/MGTOW can since at least they can be chalked up to not being associated with us.

[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Breaking your spine from lifting isn’t self defense. Breaking spines in general is a bit far for the majority of self defense scenarios.
[–]Grokeshi 1 point2 points3 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Wait where is the assault? I'm pretty sure shoving your hand in someones face simply means close to their face invading their personally space in a rude manner.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
She said she shoved her hand into his face. I thought she meant she palm stuck him, since a palm strike is literally shoving your hand into someone’s face. And either way it’s a physically intimidating gesture as a response to him being verbally unfriendly while trying to do something friendly
[–]Mackowatosc 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Some jurisdistions would argue that an act of physical intimidation is legal grounds for self-defensive measures already.
[–]Jackson2615 1 point2 points3 points (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Petrus59 4 points5 points6 points (1 child) | Copy Link
What a total overreaction to a guy offering to help, unbelievable! She felt put down! Shoves her hand in his face, in front of his family. This woman has issues, needs to see a physiatrist.
[–]blubb5612 points [recovered] | Copy Link
And all the feminists be like "you go girl!" smh. But if a boy punshes a girl in an act of self defense, everyone in a 5 mile radius rushes over to lynch that guy.
[–]GotSomeMemesBoah 0 points1 point2 points (6 children) | Copy Link
She said "LOL. people. i didn’t hit the guy. i put my hand up as if to say “get out of here.” relax" in response to people saying she assaulted him. I think she was mostly in the right here guys ngl. inb4 "bUt WoMeN aLwAyS LiE"
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 2 points3 points4 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Oh okay. Saying she shoved her hand in his face sounds like she palm struck the guy’s face though
[–]Grokeshi 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
No it really doesn't. I've heard that phrase before. No one uses that term for a palm strike. They say "I smacked them" or "I slapped them across the face" or even "I palm struck his nose".
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
The way my coach literally introduced the palm strike was by showing and and saying “shove your hand in their face”. Any martial artist can tell you that. Shoving is an aggressive and fast motion, and palm strikes are a fast and aggressive motion. And either way what he was doing was offering to lift it for her, even though it was in an inconsiderate way. In return she used a physically intimidating gesture in front of his family. That is insanity. She could have just said “I don’t appreciate you saying I’m weak” instead of (almost) commuting battery.
[–]Oncefa2 1 point2 points3 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Still not something she should have done.
[–]GotSomeMemesBoah 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
And also it’s a physically intimidating gesture anyways though. He offered help in an inconsiderate way, and in return she used physical intimidation.
[–]unbent_unbowed 0 points1 point2 points (3 children) | Copy Link
Please. Nobody was physically assaulted in this story. Sticking your hand in someone's face is definitely a dick move, but it's not physical assault. Quit your bullshit
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (2 children) | Copy Link
She said she SHOVED it in his face. That sounds an awful lot like a palm strike. Actually that’s exactly how you describe a palm strike. And either way it’s physically intimidating. I thought she was trying to show off how powerful her palm strike was.
[–]unbent_unbowed -2 points-1 points0 points (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]KnightofNarg 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Women's pelvic floor issues are are rarely discussed and are a major concern for women as they grow older, and overexertion by lifting is a primary cause. Doesn't matter how strong their bodies are, the pelvic floor is incredible susceptible to damage, especially with the barbaric way births are conducted. Over time organs will prolapse through their vaginal opening, and there's little that can be done without causing other issues in the process of putting a bandaid on the issue. This is a problem men rarely have, and so they can lift without this specific concern in mind.
This issue needs addressed and acknowledged by feminists before they can spout, "I don't need a man to lift for me," because they're more likely to cause irreparable damage without realizing it. Unfortunately these days feminists are so young and bold, like all young people thinking themselves invincible for the sake of pride for their gender.
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup. Sometimes gender roles are based off a bit of truth. That’s probably why men usually lift stuff. For that and because we are stronger than women usually.
[–]Ketsuni -2 points-1 points0 points (9 children) | Copy Link
Was the "assault" her shoving her hand in his face?
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (8 children) | Copy Link
Shove your hand in someone’s face is battery.
[–]Ketsuni 1 point2 points3 points (7 children) | Copy Link
I don't think she literally shoved it into his face; it sounded more like a gesture?
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 1 point2 points3 points (6 children) | Copy Link
She said she shoved it in his face. The word shove means to thrust something. Thrusting your hand into a person’s face is battery.
[–]Ketsuni 1 point2 points3 points (5 children) | Copy Link
Sorry. Where I'm from, to shove a hand in someone's face is usually an open-palmed STOP directly infront of their face. Like a "do not ignore me and stop what you're doing".
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] -2 points-1 points0 points (4 children) | Copy Link
Either way it’s a very aggressive gesture which is physically intimidating as a response to verbal insult. That’s not okay even if it’s not battery. And she describes it the same way I’d describe a palm strike tbf
[–]Ketsuni 4 points5 points6 points (3 children) | Copy Link
I think battery involves contact, which is why I was confused
[–]Lil-Rupees[S] 0 points1 point2 points (2 children) | Copy Link
I looked it up, you’re right it does. Sorry for my stupid mistake. Either way though it’s physically intimidating which isn’t okay either in front of people’s family, meaning there were probably kids.
