Now you know how it feels, sorta. If the men take it so far as to take the place over, then change it to be better for men, then it will be complete lol.

[–]Mythandros 63 points64 points65 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

This is exactly what should happen to all of these idiotic "safe spaces".

If feminists can do it to us, we should show them that we can play their game better than they can.

Take over all of the "safe spaces".

Now while I don't think it should be glamourized, I'm pretty fat accepting, so I'm only pointing it out for the irony, but one of the big complaints in the article is the "space taken up by men's bigger bodies and belongings". Do you think they could get away with saying that about fat women?

And I love how this woman says her "cis male boss" "treated it like a coffee shop and didn't respect the space" (what does that mean?) and was getting stares, and then the next line another woman talks about purposefully glaring at men and those that bring them, like no shit you get stares if women stare by default to scare off men lol.

[–]Arthuyo 29 points30 points31 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

and I call bullshit on the belongings part. Women carry plenty of shit wherever they go

[–]IVIaskerade 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A man's briefcase vs their enormous handbags isn't even a contest.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The tone of the article isn't subtle. The author just decided to have a good old bitch session. I laughed at the part where the woman talking about a man entering this "hallowed space" being entitled... so her expecting men not to be allowed into the building is what exactly?

[–]godjustice 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Briefcase?!? What year are you living in? I haven't seen a dude with a briefcase working in business in ages. Maybe a lawyer in recent time but I see everyone with a backpack or satchel because of their laptops.

[–]SchalaZeal01 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's also one talking about being looked at in a sexual way. Saying in the next line that all-women space don't have this. Never heard of bisexual and lesbian women, I see.

[–]FineCityLad 34 points35 points36 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Much like men's sheds accepting women in, a space for men, to gather and talk about thier issues. But women just hated being left out.

Kind of looked like an advertisement for the place to me. How surreal us it to see words like "Pissed" in headlines though!

Feels like a PR advertisement. First off, how many men would even want to be in a place like that? I wouldn't.

It's actually quite sad that there is a demand for such a place. The fact that so many women seem to hate men so much as to form these spaces speaks volumes for those who implanted the image of men in their heads.

[–]ApprehensiveMail8 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Feels like a PR advertisement. First off, how many men would even want to be in a place like that? I wouldn't."

The men don't want to be there- it is a WORKPLACE and they have to be there to do their jobs.

Because what sort of work could these women possibly be doing where they don't ever have any male coworkers, customers, service men fixing things, deliverymen, garbagemen, etc. Even if that sort of discrimination was legal it just isn't pragmatically possible to find women to fill all or even most of those positions. One woman is complaining about a guy who is literally her boss.

New York men are a different breed. You’d be surprised how much men would go in there

[–]rabel111 27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's wonderful that these sexist pigs are leaving their nasty opinions about men all over the internet. It never goes away.

Hope comes back to bite them in the future when the pendulum swings back to a more neutral space.

[–]Lethn 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

When you look at the situation even though it's slow to happen it already is affecting them. We're seeing them rant in mainstream media and on social media about their dating lives. They're being socially culled by men so they're setting up subs and acting like the very incels and red pillers they claim to be against oh so much.

Perhaps it's the election in the UK giving me a new optimistic outlook, but I think we are all ultimately going to win this fight against feminist ideology. The reason men have had to put up with so much shit is because the ones that can fight back against the social ostracising that feminists love taking part in to get rid of people they don't like have just rolled over them.

Now though it's very much a different story, there are still casualties but the professionals especially are now telling them to go fuck themselves for the most part and they don't like it at all. This means of course the more vulnerable men or men with less social capital have more legal precedent to fight back. Feminism is still an immensely powerful movement filled with plenty of middle/upper class white women who have convinced themselves that men are out to get them so they justify all sorts of discrimination and prejudice but they're going down and they fucking know it.

We're having to undo a movement that has infested at least two almost three generations of women and some men as well, it's going to take time but it will be worth it. If nothing else to see them screech like the vicious harpies they are at being denied their power over men.

[–]HeForeverBleeds 26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Of course. Women in men's spaces are "brave", and men's spaces need to change to accommodate then

Men in women's spaces are "entitled invaders" who need to leave. Fuck them, another of the many double standards against men

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Female reporters think its perfectly fine to be in men's change rooms after sporting events. Double standard and then some.

[–]irrelevantmoniker 51 points52 points53 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And as ever. Feminism is about power. And yes. THERE IS power in having a place where a gender can talk freely without the other gender listening in or being involved. Especially if they can talk about the other gender.

That's why feminists want to A. remove male spaces. B. retain female spaces.

This is all feeling a bit 1984 really.

[–]WRZESZCZ_1998 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like that asian movie where women were plotting murder casually in a bathroom and the guy who heared it was arrested for being woman's bathroom.

That's called a club. Public places and business should not be exclusive to either gender.

30 something year old LONG time member... Wing was starter in 2016. I don't think you know what the term long time member means.

[–]bakedpotato486 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Critics of the Wing were quick to point out the lack of diversity in the spaces, but the company’s expansion and popularity has brought up a completely different issue that was never expected to arise: straight men wanting to come in and hang out.

This couldn't have been written without even a smidge of irony. Absolutely every men's space has been called out for "lack of diversity" and thus had women "wanting to come in and hang out."

"Completely different issue" and "never expected to arise" my ass.

Playing innocent when caught with the hand in the till? Unsurprising behaviour for a woman to revert to "little girl" type.

LOL comments on the article are closed naturally. Can't have joe schmoe pointing out the blatant hypocrisy in the first post, getting upvoted, and undermining your victim narrative now can we ladies?

Let us know when men can go back to having our own spaces again and then maybe you can complain. let's start with the YMCA- all the ladies out of the pool! No? Then STFU.

[–]Sun_Wukong_72 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good lord, what did I just read. That was one of the most toxically sexist things I have ever read. WTliteralF, America.

We need mans spaces. Legitimately, no chicks allowed, leave us the fuck alone, man spaces... and they don't exist anymore.

I went to join a boxing club last month. More women as men in there, all wearing their tightest tightest spandex, all doing that fucking irritating "haha, oooh, you want to look at me don't you, go on, look at that ass, look at it... You looked! How dare you! You literal Hitler!" they love to do so much.

I just wanted to get sweaty and punch things again. For the love of all that's holy.

So yeh, I hope their glaring doesn't put off the dudes who can afford to fuck with them in their holy space. Keep up the good work.

“It’s bizarre to choose to occupy a space women specifically wanted for themselves."

No shit, Kaitlin...

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

“There’s usually at least one [man] whenever I visit,” says Kaitlin Phillips, 29, a member in New York for the past two years. “It’s bizarre to choose to occupy a space women specifically wanted for themselves. Classic patriarchal entitlement complex.”

Of course, what else could it be? /s

This lack of official paperwork garnered the attention of the New York City Commission on Human Rights, which in 2018 opened an investigation into the company. The Wing’s large membership — more than 11,000 worldwide, according to reps — meant it couldn’t pass as a “social club,” and therefore can’t discriminate based on gender. This, coupled with a lawsuit brought by a 53-year-old man earlier this year claiming gender discrimination, led the Wing to formally adopt a membership policy: “The Wing is a space designed for women with a women’s-focused mission. Members and guests are welcome regardless of their perceived gender or gender identity. Recognizing that gender identity is not always consistent with someone’s sex assigned at birth, we do not ask members or guests to self-identify.”

Based on the new policy, the commission confirms to The Post that it dropped its investigation this past summer.

But all of the women The Post spoke to had the same questions: Why would a man want to go to the Wing, anyway? Just because he can? To hit on women? To be a troll? The company’s magazine is called No Man’s Land!

So the lawsuits were successful. Good to hear.

“It’s just annoying,” says Caitlin White, a 31-year-old West Hollywood member who sees at least one man working in the space each day. “Why do men need to be there? Why can’t they respect the spirit of the place? Men have to have everything.”

No, it's women who have to have everything. The very laws feminists helped push through congress make these kinds of spaces illegal.

When she first joined, she says, she made the mistake of bringing in her cis male boss for a meeting, something that she now regrets.

“I’ll never do that again,” she says. “He didn’t respect the space, acting like we were in a coffee shop or something. I was getting looks from other members.”

Women are so tolerant, eh?
