Hey, ladies (and gents?)

I've been lurking RPW for a few months. I noticed something about myself. When I met my partner, I was very RPW without knowing it. He gave me the keys to his apartment and since I worked less hours than him, I'd come home before he did and clean his house (he doesn't have an eye for cleaning details such as floor boards, shining the sink, etc). I would cook him dinner. And help him flesh out future goals. I'd encourage him at work and showed him how to get a raise at his job. lol, now that I think about it, it is no wonder he proposed, right?

So now we're co-habitating and we've gotten very clear on some financial goals. Our mind has just been really focused on the finance thing. It takes up a lot of time and mental real estate. And now, I don't do those things anymore very often.

It just felt easier to do it at his place when we weren't living together... it was easier when I was just a girl, recent graduate with a normal job and a few hobbies.

It's hard for me to think about work, finances, and also manage our new home. It feels so difficult and it drives me INSANE. It drives me insane and lurking in here made me realize that it probably is driving him insane, also. I have ADHD which might contribute to the difficulty level of this.

My biggest fear is that for whatever reason, we will want to divorce each other. I don't want it to happen. And my theory is that the biggest cause of divorce is someone, somewhere along the way, stops doing what they used to do. HE hasn't stopped. He's exactly the same (and now even better) as when I met him. However, I cannot say the same for myself. I now see that I have slacked off! I don't know how to handle being RPW and being focused on financial success at the same time...
