This is kinda infantilizing to women oddly enough. It's like they see women as children and men as Adults. "it's more impressive when a woman does it because she's a woman and no one possibly thinks it's realistic for women to do something like this, so it's more impressive!" I agree 100%. If you have seen social media or the news in the last ~20 years you will have noticed a female doing something like shooting a 3 point basketball shot and get 10,000 likes. It's like omg look how amazing this girl is! She can do something every average male can do. Girl Power! Or you'll see a female juggle a soccer ball and do that foot circle around the ball while it's in the air and get 10,000 likes for how amazing she is. Anytime a female practices at something and becomes proficient it's like some sort of amazing achievement that is supposed to inspire generations of girls. Achievements of females are glorified and the achievements of males are just expected. I have wondered for years why the achievements of females is so special. It is because in the minds of every person on this planet they know men are far superior at most things. But that would be sexist to say and misogynistic right? If we don't say girls can do everything boys can do we're being sexist right? Men have been caught in the feminist trap of being called sexist for saying that men can achieve greater things much easier. This is not due to "the patriarchy" or a systemic privilege. It is actually a biological privilege. Men are the protectors and providers for their family and society. Feminists push women to acquire these labels and look how well that works out. Gender roles are not placed by society. Gender roles are placed by biology. It seems at least one half of the population is being lied to. Seriously, Gender and Womens Studies programs in colleges should either be completely removed or completely overhauled to strip the feminist narrative from instilling an incorrect ideology and baptizing SJW's. Men are currently being punished by society for being born with biological privilege. I also truly believe it is either a known plan or an involuntary one but the current feminist narrative of telling men and boys that they have "toxic masculinity" in their incorrect use of the term they are attempting to make men and boys hate themselves. What better way to destroy your enemy than make them think they are wrong and to hate themselves. I would not be surprised if there are feminists that look at the suicide rate among men and are proud of their achievement. At least that is how it feels.

I see it more as we don't expect it. There was a video circulating the internet, I think it was a year or two ago. Women's 7's rugby game. This one girl breaks her nose, gets up and makes a tackle. I thought that was pretty bad ass. It's bad ass for anyone, but because you don't expect girls to do it, it makes it a bit more bad ass.

That sad, depression in boys is a real issue and I am sure all these years of empowering young girls, while a good thing to be sure, is having a detrimental effect on boys because they aren't getting the same messages.

In the sense that women have less control over their emotions due to lower testosterone levels and so they must overcome more fear on average to achieve something it's true, in the sense that men have no safety net if they fail and are told they are worthless if they don't succeed this is false. Currently the latter has more effect than the former, and 50 years ago the latter would be much more effective than it is now where the former would be roughly the same.

That’s not the correct conclusion.

The assumption was that everybody male was entirely masculine and female entirely feminine so the personal rewards were diminished and efforts were increased if either crossed their gender threshold into the other’s domain.

We know now that the women behaving in a masculine fashion are not entirely feminine or masculine so it’s not as much a struggle for them and their promotion of such archaic concepts is vanity - ‘I worked harder and overcame more than men in a similar situation because I’m a woman’ isn’t entirely honest.

It’s considered “more impressive” because believe it or not, there are people — people even within this subreddit — that still believe human beings with a vagina are intrinsically less intelligent and less capable than those born with a penis. In this way, a female accomplishing the same thing as a male is seen as “beating the odds.”
