so the following is a quote from karen staughn and it supports my comment below where i claim that while both sides have radicals, the left hold theirs in prominent positions. ignore the snark and tone, but look at the bullet point examples she uses to illustrate how powerful and radical SJWs and radfems are. its also a bit long. i apologize buts its worth the read.

You're not Jan Reimer, former mayor of Edmonton and long-time head of Alberta's Network of Women's Shelters, who just a few years ago refused to appear on a TV program discussing male victims of domestic violence, because for her to even show up and discuss it would lend legitimacy to the idea that they exist.
You're not Mary P Koss, who describes male victims of female rapists in her academic papers as being not rape victims because they were "ambivalent about their sexual desires" (if you don't know what that means, it's that they actually wanted it), and then went on to define them out of the definition of rape in the CDC's research because it's inappropriate to consider what happened to them rape.
You're not the National Organization for Women, and its associated legal foundations, who lobbied to replace the gender neutral federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act of 1984 with the obscenely gendered Violence Against Women Act of 1994. The passing of that law cut male victims out of support services and legal assistance in more than 60 passages, just because they were male.
You're not the Florida chapter of the NOW, who successfully lobbied to have Governor Rick Scott veto not one, but two alimony reform bills in the last ten years, bills that had passed both houses with overwhelming bipartisan support, and were supported by more than 70% of the electorate.
You're not the feminist group in Maryland who convinced every female member of the House on both sides of the aisle to walk off the floor when a shared parenting bill came up for a vote, meaning the quorum could not be met and the bill died then and there.
You're not the feminists in Canada agitating to remove sexual assault from the normal criminal courts, into quasi-criminal courts of equity where the burden of proof would be lowered, the defendant could be compelled to testify, discovery would go both ways, and defendants would not be entitled to a public defender.
You're not Professor Elizabeth Sheehy, who wrote a book advocating that women not only have the right to murder their husbands without fear of prosecution if they make a claim of abuse, but that they have the moral responsibility to murder their husbands.
You're not the feminist legal scholars and advocates who successfully changed rape laws such that a woman's history of making multiple false allegations of rape can be excluded from evidence at trial because it's "part of her sexual history."
You're not the feminists who splattered the media with the false claim that putting your penis in a passed-out woman's mouth is "not a crime" in Oklahoma, because the prosecutor was incompetent and charged the defendant under an inappropriate statute (forcible sodomy) and the higher court refused to expand the definition of that statute beyond its intended scope when there was already a perfectly good one (sexual battery) already there. You're not the idiot feminists lying to the public and potentially putting women in Oklahoma at risk by telling potential offenders there's a "legal" way to rape them.
And you're none of the hundreds or thousands of feminist scholars, writers, thinkers, researchers, teachers and philosophers who constructed and propagate the body of bunkum theories upon which all of these atrocities are based.

Well right off the bat I can tell you conservatives, as a whole (obviously there are exceptions), are more in line with the men’s rights movement than liberals. And I’m not talking politicians. I’m talking the people who self identify as one or the other. For example, my brother is extremely liberal. The only point he will concede to me is divorce laws and child custody battles. As far as prison, suicide rates, more dangerous jobs... this list goes on. He thinks they are all non-issues. And that is the opinion of many liberals. Not all, but a majority.

I find it kind of ironic, the similarities between some men’s rights issues and race issues. Take prison for example. Black people are disproportionality more likely to end up in jail than white people. Lots of liberals will scream institutionalized racism, ignoring the fact that blacks are more likely to commit a crime. Why is that? I attribute it mostly to poverty. Black people are much more likely to live in impoverished neighborhoods. That’s a separate issue entirely, but it’s a pretty good general explanation as to why a much larger percentage of the black community is imprisoned than the white community. Sure, there are instances where race definitely played a part, but as a generalization it’s not THE reason. And my brother, like many liberals, can’t admit that. However, men being in prison... well that’s because they commit more crimes according to leftists. See the irony?

I don’t understand why some people can’t admit that men have issues too. It doesn’t mean they can’t rally and advocate for certain (perceived) women’s issues. It’s very hypocritical to ignore these glaring problems men face day after day claiming they have it perfect.

Why are you so angry and being so smug? Since you want to go there... My turn.

I know plenty of people on the left who are pro men's rights, and anti feminist. You need to get out more of that is what you really believe. My best friend is a liberal, and we get along fine, and share many views. You're incredibly closed minded because you think everyone else is locked into an ideology like you are. When in reality, that isn't the case.

You are letting your ideology define you as an individual. You don't have an ideology, an ideology has you. When I can predict almost all of your views based on a few paragraphs, I have zero interest in conversing with you. You dont have anything original to say, none of your beliefs are unique or your own. Your beliefs, and the peoples beliefs like yours, are quite simply, whatever someone else has convinced you of. That's called being brainwashed.

I already know your position on almost any issue relating to politics or socioeconomic systems. You won't tell me anything the last 50 or so country bumpkin conservatives haven't already. Again, your beliefs aren't unique, and because of that, you are incapable of individual thought. You are an ideologue, that's it.

I don't care what he's doing for himself and I don't care what you believe. I'm not trying to change your mind nor ask you to believe in his message. I'm asking you to explain your point of view and tell me why I shouldn't trust Peterson. I'm asking for one reason why I should trust your author. I'm asking forone reason I can't refute as you why I should stop listening to the man that makes sense.

You've still given me no reason to distrust Peterson. I've seen him made multiple statements that go against the general consensus of his following. Say things that will have lost him support.

Are they still friends? are they still colleagues? I know a few professors who wouldn't turn down a bit of spare cash. I know more that would lie. I'm not saying said author is, just that they might be, and you're in no position to claim Peterson is untrustworthy through a similar source.

I disagree with the idea that gun control would make 0 difference to school shootings. I haven't heard him say that but I have no reason to doubt you.

Many people can't decide if they believe in God. And I don't believe he's a genius. Even clever people can have a crisis of faith. Whether or not be believes in God of all things is hardly relevant to what he has to say.

And again? so what if he thinks abortion is clearly wrong? He is entitled to that view. i disagree and ill do research on what points he made on the subject. But none of this is reason why I shouldn't trust him. You've still given me nothing and have devolved into adhomiem arguments.

I'll ask. What has he done that means I nor shouldn't listen and consider what he has to say instead of dismissing it out oh hand just because he said it?

Edot: read some of his abortion views. I agree abortion in morally wrong. in that regard it is indefencable, but i believe it's also necessary. He hasn't called for a ban, he's called for pro life messages and protection of the pro life message. He's also called for tighter control after the first trimester. all things he's in his right to do. All things there are convincing arguments for. I don't agree with all of them. doesn't mean I have to agree with everything he says. Dosent make him untrustworthy
