My final assignment is a research paper, and I plan to mainly focus on 3 things; False accusations against men, Men who have been raped, and Circumcision.

You run a great risk of failing this class.

My experience, from 1995:

College freshman in a highly respected technical engineering university. "Intro to Literature and Language" was the name of the class, but the professor was a deep, deep third wave feminist, the kind to which we are all now familiar but I had never heard of back then. She threw out the syllabus and instead made the class about "Reevaluating your values."

For my mid-term paper, I chose a value I had, reevaluated it, and determined it was a good value to begin with. She gave me a D on it, with her only comments being that it was "illogical and poorly written."

I was one of only 12 NCTE Writing Award winners in my entire state, likely the only one in my entire freshman class at this engineering university, and also captain of my high school debate team.

So I dropped the class.

I found out from one of the brave souls who stayed in it, that the one gay guy got an A, the four women got Bs, and the dozen men got Cs or below.

I got out light.

Honestly I wouldn't do this if you care about your grade. There's a time and place for everything, and as you know "gender studies" has as no tolerance for the male gender being anything other than a privileged oppressor. Pretty sure that the teacher will at best dismiss you for material irrelevant to the class. I could be wrong though.. good luck if you go through with it.

It might not be accepted. I’ve written papers that my professor simply would not grade. You are straddling that fine line.

The Mens Rights Movement will be necessary until this idiotic meme is killed forever.

I am not trying to make my teacher (whose a borderline 'man hater') mad, I just truly want to inform her and all my other class mates of these problems.

She doesn't want to be informed and you will make her mad. Will other classmates be reading this paper or is there a presentation component? If not, how will this inform them?

Any advice or scholarly sources would be appreciated, or any recommendations of how to approach it!

My last semester I took a sociology class called "Social Problems". My final paper in the class was titled something like: "Sociology as a Social Problem". The paper basically was about why all of the Conflict Theory bs (the whole class was taught from that sociological perspective only) exacerbates problems in society instead of solving them. Got a "C" on the paper, but an "A" in the class because all the other coursework was insultingly easy.

Good luck, but don't expect this paper to "lift" your grade if you are in need of that. The "C" was a more objective grade than I expected, but I was going to get an A in the class regardless.

I really like it and applaud your bravery. In terms of your paper, it seems circumcision, while an important issue, doesn’t fit in with the other two. This is just my English nerd coming out, but I think to remain thematically about abuse by women towards men, it might make a stronger case about male domestic abuse or false paternity. They would all lend themselves to a singular thesis that highlights male suffering in silence at the hands of wicked of women. I imagine your larger point is show that men suffer many of the same issues women do, but no one seems to care.

I wish you good luck with this! Hopefully your teacher doesn’t give you an F on it for the paper being about male suffering.

But if you feel like your teacher is going to give you an F for your topic being what it is, then drop it. You are more important than your fixing teacher’s ignorance. Get a good grade if you can, to help your chances for that, write about something your teacher supports and is passionate about.

Well, you are going to have a hard time finding a male author writing about feminism because that would be analogous to a woman writing about prostate exams. Feminism is best read and study from the female point of view because it involves the female experience, whether they are pro or against. A man, who grew up in the 1970s could not possibly understand how a woman must have felt when she was required to have her father’s permission to get a credit card. You could approach the issue from a different lens. Perhaps talk about how religion has been used to restrict the civil rights of men and women. You can still insert your ideas, and get a good grade.
