Boys still die or are ill as a result of this practice, and who knows what psychological sequelae follow painful mutilations of this kind?^² The Royal College of Surgeons could take the lead in outlawing the practice of male genital mutilation by its members.

People will hamster anything about circumcision as body shaming, they don't understand that the problem isn't that there are men without foreskin, but that there are people cutting baby's foreskin. Make sure this is clear, and don't bring up the subject for no real reason. :/

Yeah this happened to me there too a while back.

They think circumcision isn't mutiliation despite the fact it fits the definition but are fine for female circumcision to be called mutilation because they view one as acceptable and the other as not.

This has nothing to do with body-shaming as men don't get offended as much as women do about factual comments about their bodies and they don't apply it to discussions of FMG for the same logic, it's is sexism plain and simple to allow one act of mutilation to be validated as such and the other not based on gender

I'm with /u/Aaod and /u/Zebid on this one. The "as is tradition" phrase at the end of the first post is sort of a joke. It was a bit tone-deaf of you to bring circumcision into it out of nowhere.

Your talking points aren't wrong, but they're unsolicited and out of place. Intactivism is still kind of a fringe movement, and behaving like an extremist turns people away.

The mod seems to be handling it with restraint, despite you being a little combative. If you aren't banned already, I suggest a mild apology ("sorry, this issue is important to me and gets me really worked up") or just stop digging and let it lie.
