soldiers, engineers, lawyers... as a society we can survive without them (at least in the short and medium term).

Things we can't survive without... food (farmers, truckers, railroads), fuel(rig workers, truckers, refinery factory workers), communications (line repairmen, server maintenance), electricity (line repairmen, generating plant/dam/facility workers), safety (firefighters), reproduction (women).

Out of everything we have to have to survive... reproduction is the only thing women provide.

Those things missing will destroy our society.

We do not need lawyers to survive. We do not need engineers to survive. We do not need soldiers to survive. We do not need politicians, teachers, psychiatrists, day care workers, help desk technicians, etc... Those are nice, but society will move on without them (or replace them eventually... no rush).

Governments wouldn't shut down. It would go into an emergency mode (which really, the entirety of the world would be in an emergency mode at that point).

school systems would as well, etc.

Absolutely school systems would shut down, and there would be a serious uptick in deaths that should have been preventable. Our healthcare system would be in chaos for quite some time... but I think we'd get to a "new normal" within a month or so.

The entirety of education would be disrupted until we found a way to make up for the missing women in education. It would likely involve having college professors teach groups of boys in each school (these groups would be larger than the current standard classroom size...as we have considerably fewer college professors than we have teachers). It would probably also require having industry employees (chemists, etc...) come to teach classes during the day... so as to keep our education system running until we can find a new normal.

The fact that men are physical labourers is due to biology

No arguments there.

but women have a lot of other important roles in society that you're (perhaps willingly) overlooking.

We aren't talking about important. We are talking, required for survival. If there are some that women perform that society would end without, please let me know.

The impact of Trump's election on the Western alliance has been... well, I don't want to say catastrophic, because I'm hoping it will recover. But certainly nothing positive has come out of it.

I'm glad Obama ordered a deployment to the Baltics and Poland before he left office. The idea that there is any merit in trying to reconcile with Russia while Putin is in power, or while the system he created remains in place, is baseless. The only viable option is to deter.

Trump's toying with the security of Eastern Europe is, at very least, disastrously ill-thought out. But I'm actually more inclined to think it's actually treasonous. I look forward to seeing what Robert Mueller uncovers, assuming he’s allowed to finish the job he started.

EDIT: actually, that reminds me, I was going to watch Bill Browder's evidence on C-Span.

I enjoy American politics a lot. They're like a reality-show that's not scripted at all.

I actually admire the way business in conducted in Congress. Robust but orderly; at least, that's how it looks to an outsider.

The EU is your most powerful ally, even if you don't like to recognize it. Your country will not be attacked by Russia because it's under the umbrella of the EU, Ukraine wasn't. I've seen a lot of hate for the EU by Eastern European countries, and it's quite shameful since you get direct funding from western EU states like mine. Your entire country is basically below the average European income and as such you get funding. You literally get money from western taxpayer like me.

thanks for acknowledging all the help we've been given the eastern bloc. The more I see opinions like yours, the more I think we've should've let you out of EU at the mercy of Russia. Honestly, your country barely meets any EU standard and the only reason you're in is to expand east to counterbalance Russia.

Suggestion: leave the EU and enjoy life in Russia, so that French, Italians, Germans, Spanish etc. can stop supporting you ingrates with money.

It's long but it's well worth watching. The Ukraine has been comprehensively betrayed by the West, particularly the powers that signed the Budapest Memorandum.

The US deserves credit for passing the Magnitsky Act in response to the lawlessness of Putin’s regime. But the annexation of Crimea and the invasion of Donbass should have prompted all the powers which guaranteed Ukraine's integrity and independence in 1994 to impose far-reaching sanctions on Russia.

It’s extremely worrying. Everyone seems to be behaving as if we have time to spare while we squabble among ourselves. It’s like a nightmare in which you can see a horror unfolding and you know everyone else can see it, but still no one reacts or does anything to stop it.

What will Eastern Europe look like by the time we finally come to our senses? I see that lunatic Zakharchenko even tried to declare the new state of Malorossiya a couple of weeks ago. The Kremlin didn’t support him. But I wonder if the ploy is to make grandiose demands now, so that they came claim to be moderate when they only take the Eastern third of the country.

It’s time the West remembered what its priorities are.

It feels increasingly like there is the Trump administration and its hangers on and then there's the establishment Republican Party. Which is all very well, and certainly it's more reassuring than it would be if Pence and Congress were going along with Trump's chaotic appeasement.

But it would be more reassuring still if the GOP were actively reigning Trump in on this issue rather than just quietly doing the rounds to try and patch up the damage he leaves in his wake.

I would not be surprised if workplace discrimination took place in some circumstances, but overall, it's difficult to argue against the fact that the average woman just doesn't want to put in the effort it takes to have a top position like CEO. Edit: In fact, most MEN don't want to do all that, either. A very small percentage of particular people can do those insane jobs, but they are rare in our society. That doesn't make women (or men who don't do it either) "less", it's just the way it is.

Just the other day my best friend says to me, "Jill, why aren't there more women in politics? There needs to be more women in politics here in the U.S and Canada!" And when I told her it's likely because on average most women value quality time in their relationships and are not willing to give up their privacy like politicians are often required to do, she says, "Well, I could probably do all that..." and I just laughed at her. I told her, "You don't even like it when your own FAMILY knows what you're up to half the time, how are you going to feel with half the nation breathing down your neck at all times?" -- And hey, that doesn't even just apply to women. A lot of men don't want to deal with that nonsense either.

It's a far more complicated issue than we realize.

Riddle me this: In 50,000 years, women have been oppressed by feminist claims.

Not once did women overthrow men and become rulers in their own right, in a matriarchal society. In any matriarchal society that met one 'ruled by males', it subsequently was exploded.

Now, women and men are nearly always equal in population rates, actually women are higher in population than men.

And yet they never seemed capable of grabbing power for themselves.

At least, not until mechanized society and industry made the world much safer for both genders, and much easier to produce work that you'll get paid for. In a sense, MEN creating machinery made women capable of becoming equals.

Are women equal to men? if so, how could they be successfully oppressed without fail for 50,000 years?

There must be a problem with this story. I think it might be the feminist delusion that women were oppressed in a unique fashion unlike men. The alternative is to accept that women are really inferior, and I don't buy that. Do you?
