Women would be going ape. Still, it seems that Taylor Lautner went with his gut and did the smart thing.

[–][deleted] 31 points32 points33 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Remember all the hysteria about "locker room talk" whenever some famous guy gets caught saying something even remotely like this? We're not even allowed to say in private what women can literally print in the "news"

John Mayer: ideal height 6'3"

[–]ExpendableOne 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

This common obsession with height from women will forever astound me. I just don't get how it could be so important and defining to them. At best, you have women being completely sexist and superficial. At worse, you have women infantilizing themselves in the context of the relationship(men must be the taller one because bigger means leader). Height does nothing for anyone, it doesn't affect any aspect of the relationship(least of all sex, when you are bare-feet and horizontal). It doesn't reflect anything about someone's lifestyle. It doesn't matter in any way. It is a completely irrational obsession, and somehow it's perfectly okay for women to not only judge men on this but do so in the most public matter-of-fact manner(as if it was an objective standard of measure for a man). It is absolutely baffling how it is still considered completely acceptable for women to say shit like that.

[–]Gamogi 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And yet, weight, which is controllable and important, is not okay to talk about.

[–]52576078 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Red Pill guys are pretty good on this kind of stuff. It's simple - it's biology. Hypergamy. Very little they or you can do about it. Certainly no point criticising women for it.

[–]ExpendableOne 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

biology. Hypergamy.

Blaming the height obsession from women, or hypergamy for that matter, purely on biology is pure speculation. If there is something that can be done about it, how would we know? We are literally not even trying to do something about it because society absolutely fails to call women up on this either way, specifically because of the idea that women cannot or should not be criticized for their ideals, choices and judgement because they are women. If is it part of biology, then doing nothing is not going to help anyone overcome this entirely irrational "biology". If it isn't part of biology, you are contributing to the problem by claiming that nothing could or should be done about it.

[–]52576078 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists have called men out on our attraction to slim women - how did that work out for them? Did one man suddenly finding chubby women more attractive? No, you can't legislate for this stuff. All you can do is improve your own chances, by making yourself more attractive. As I said, this is where I think the Red Pill guys have a good point.

[–]Daemonicus 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Do you even know what you're complaining about right now?

Most of the time personality, trumps physicality. You can't take someone as vapid as Swift, and use that as a template for relationships. Preferences can't be argued against, because they are personal, and people are allowed, and should be allowed to have them.

You can't force women to date shorter men. You shouldn't even bother trying to. The goal is to change the perception of short men as inferior. But even if you do that, there will still, always be preferences.

If is it part of biology, then doing nothing is not going to help anyone overcome this entirely irrational "biology".

This help that you're seeking comes from within. Not from forcing others to conform to what you want.

If it isn't part of biology, you are contributing to the problem by claiming that nothing could or should be done about it.

They're most likely claiming that nothing can be done that would affect a group of people. What should be done is something each individual needs to do for themselves.

[–]ExpendableOne 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Most of the time personality, trumps physicality.

Not when it comes to height. And, really, that is wishful thinking, because women can be just as shallow as men if not more so when it comes to weight and beauty too. Height, for a disheartening amount of women(a strong majority) is a prerequisit. Personally doesn't matter to those women when it comes to men under a certain height. Not just because they immediately write off and delegitimize those men but those men say will be perceived and interpreted differently(negative bias). Women seeing things like Taylor Swift on this issue are not rare and, not only would Taylor Swift be a role-model to these women but she is also a product of their conditioning as well(She is, after all, still a girl that grew up like everyone else). Taylor Swift is not doing anything most other women wouldn't be doing in her place.

Preferences can't be argued against, because they are personal, and people are allowed, and should be allowed to have them.

It entirely depends what those "preferences" come from. If that preference is based on irrational prejudices or simple herd mentality and conformity(other women like tall men, therefore women learn from a young age that they are supposed to like tall men, those women grow up to repeat the cycle with the next generation) than that aspect of it can absolutely be argued against. If you lived in a world of racism and the vast majority of women just grew up thinking "I would never date black people, because they are gross and unnatural", that would still be a problem of racism. You wouldn't just go "well, it's women's preference, can't do anything about that! I guess black people really are gross and unnatural if that's what women say they are".

[–]Daemonicus 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not when it comes to height.

Yes, even height. Obviously this isn't true for every woman... Just like it's not true that every man is willing to dismiss weight, or breast size. But seriously, being short can be overcome by personality, and other things that you can actually change, like fitness level.

Height, for a disheartening amount of women(a strong majority) is a prerequisit.

At first, sure. But women for the most part are willing to be proven wrong, if you give them something else they desire.

You wouldn't just go "well, it's women's preference, can't do anything about that! I guess black people really are gross and unnatural if that's what women say they are".

You're trying to give a subjective perspective, an objective value. Doesn't work like that. The women that are like that, will always be like that no matter what. The women that aren't shallow, will look for more.

Your post sounds like you spend too much time on /r/short, and are just looking for excuses to abandon self improvement. If you're short, you need to own it, and improve yourself where you can.

Everyone has multiple strikes against them, and yeah not all of them are equal, but the goal is to eliminate how many strikes you have. If you're short, you need to be fit, you need to be funny, intelligent, or both. It would help if you were fun, and open to new experiences, and adventures/traveling.

Just like how fat women need to have other positive qualities in order to succeed with romance. Just like with really thin guys, or nerds, or visible minorities, or poor people.

At first, sure. But women for the most part are willing to be proven wrong, if you give them something else they desire.

Again, delusional optimism. This is really not the case. Talk to enough women about this and the unbudging group-think is undeniable. I have seen enough women flat out deny any chance to short men and write them off, because they were short, and no amount of smooth talking ever changed their minds.

Your post sounds like you spend too much time on /r/short, and are just looking for excuses to abandon self improvement.

What an ignorant and completely insulting statement. Short guys don't just give up on self-improvement and the discrimination they face isn't just something they made up or a result of lack of self-improvement. Short men will face discrimination from women no matter how great of a personality they have, and tall man less still receive more respect and adoration even with a shitty personality. Not only will no amount of "owning" it will resolve the situation(clearly, it's a problem when even movie/music stars are trashed for their height) but it is still also something that men, and only men, would have to deal with(which also makes it absolutely wrong). When people actively discriminate and trash women because they are women, no one would tell them to "just own it!".

Just like how fat women need to have other positive qualities in order to succeed with romance.

Obesity is an entirely different problem, and it is just as unpopular in men as it is in women. Height is not something someone can change and doesn't affect anything. Obesity is a result of over-eating and lack of exercise, and also heavily impacts what that person is able to do as well as their health. It actually makes it harder to have sex and do things together. It actually alters the shape/form of the human body. Height is none of these things and, somehow, the vast majority of women still view height as a considerably bigger problem. That is irrational.

Just like with really thin guys, or nerds, or visible minorities, or poor people.

Being thin as a woman is fine. Being a nerd as a woman is fine. Being a visible minority as a woman is fine. Being poor as a woman is fine. Why does no one ever question the fact that men, and only men, are judged on these things? There are clearly social issues at play in all these preferences and system of judgements placed on men by women.

[–]Daemonicus 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well then you're not very good at talking to other people, as is evidenced by how you're responding to me.

What an ignorant and completely insulting statement. Short guys don't just give up on self-improvement and the discrimination they face isn't just something they made up or a result of lack of self-improvement.

I never said they did. I said that people that frequent that sub do. Which is quite clear if you have spent any time there.

Short men will face discrimination from women no matter how great of a personality they have, and tall man less still receive more respect and adoration even with a shitty personality.

Yes. Just like how everyone faces discrimination of some sort. Good looking people face discrimination as well. Just like tall people, muscular people, fat people, blondes, brunettes... Every nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, and just about every other demographic you can think of, faces some sort of discrimination, from certain groups of people. This is nothing new. This has always been the case, and it will always be the case.

Not only will no amount of "owning" it will resolve the situation(clearly, it's a problem when even movie/music stars are trashed for their height) but it is still also something that men, and only men, would have to deal with(which also makes it absolutely wrong).

Owning it places you in a better light to other people. Owning it gives you self confidence. Self confidence means a lot, and can compensate for quite well for certain shortcomings (you like that?).

When people actively discriminate and trash women because they are women, no one would tell them to "just own it!".

Actually yes. There were many campaigns early on in feminism which did just that. That's exactly what empowerment was all about. You are responsible for your empowerment, not other people. If someone doesn't like short guys, then don't try to date them. There are lots of women that simply don't care about height.

Obesity is an entirely different problem, and it is just as unpopular in men as it is in women. Height is not something someone can change and doesn't affect anything.

Height does affect some things, and it's also a symptom of some things. All you need to do is look to North Korea, and compare them to South Korea. People are shorter because of poverty, and hunger. Height also has a limit on absolute strength potential. So the perception that short men are "weaker" isn't entirely wrong. It's a fact. Someone who is 5'5" doesn't have the same strength potential as someone who is 6'.

Height is almost all of those things. Shortness has been linked epigenetically to famine that was experienced by grandparents, and parents. Which is an indication of health. Have you ever tried having sex with a woman who was much taller than you? Certain positions are impossible. Not everyone is boring in bed, and only does missionary. Maybe that's why you can't keep a woman? Height also alters the shape of the body... For you to think it doesn't, means you don't understand how the body works from any angle.

Lots of things are irrational when it comes to preferences. I have personal favourites in regards to breast size, and shape. But it doesn't really matter. It's irrational. Breast size doesn't really matter, it's just a preference. At the end of the day, their personality would trump that. But it doesn't mean that I wouldn't reject a woman simply because of her breasts. It means that they would need to demonstrate their other qualities that I value. This is no different for women that try to filter out men that they would date.

Being thin as a woman is fine

Obviously not too thin, otherwise cries for "eat a sandwich" come pouring in. Or men will make crude jokes about being scared to "break them".

Being a nerd as a woman is fine.

No it's not. Be careful not to make the same mistake that some women do when saying that, when all they really want is a model with glasses.

Being a visible minority as a woman is fine.

It's not any more fine than being a man who's a minority.

Why does no one ever question the fact that men, and only men, are judged on these things?

Because men aren't the only ones judged on those things. Even women are judged by their height. Maybe not to the same extent as men, but it still happens. Short women are fetishized, and tall women are filtered out too. Don't pretend that men are the sole victims of height.

There are clearly social issues at play in all these preferences and system of judgements placed on men by women.

There are. There are also personal issues at play as well.

I agree mostly. But...I'm 6'2" so am secretly also ok with it :/

[–]DevilishRogue 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At 6'2 you're too short to be the ideal height for this particularly vapid starlet.

[–]UnnamedNamesake 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, she's like a fucking giraffe. Especially since she's always wearing high heels.

She slept with all the guys in Hollywood .

[–]cymrich 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

not all of them... it says Lautner didn't make it to first base! so that's 1 she missed.

[–]tallwheel 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sounds more like she didn't make it to first base with him.

[–]Lethn 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We already know exactly what happens when even boys do this, there was that incident awhile back I remember where there was a bunch of schoolboys rating girls and of course everybody was screaming 'Misogyny', 'Objectification' non-stop.

While it is pretty fucking insensitive to do it so blatantly and the double standards are annoying as hell the only thing really to do is call out the hypocritical women that do this and post their bullshit side by side for all to see.

In fact, it's already been done, just needs to be done more, i remember when that stupid lawyer got really pissy about a man complimenting her photograph on LinkedIn then someone dug through her account and caught her doing the exact same thing.

[–]User-31f64a4e 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Harry Styles: Too many girls.

Says the cunt who has slept around with half of Hollywood!

Taylor Swift actually dumped Styles because he wouldn't get circumcised for her.

In my book, that means she rates an F-

[–]BattlestarFaptastula 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wait, what the shit? That's worse than dumping a woman because she won't get a boob job, why the fuck hasn't that been reported on? I'm not much into gossip but that's honestly a little bit shocking. For one thing I think Styles is British and we only circumcise for religious or medical reasons here so it's pretty uncommon.

If that is true, it's absolutely horrible. I'm not 100% sure on that source, though, unfortunately.

[–]cymrich 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

is this real or just some tabloid gossip stuff? I mean did taylor swift really "rate" these guys?

also... "too short" on the first one... pretty shallow thing to target.

and then "too many other girls" on the 5th one or so? as she is rating a bunch of guys!

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Anything that uses as a source "a pal," is bound to be bullshit. You know, like the New York Times or the Washington Post.

[–]Pz5 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe the guys should rate Taylor Swift

[–]Doubt_Cloudy 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]ho-tron 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You might want to look at the sub you're linking to- they're not complaining that women today are too easy for them. Or you might want to read what I wrote again, either way, F- for you.

[–]geengaween 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

They use the exact same invective that you do, you'd fit right in there

[–]Swordfish101101[🍰] -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

You're still not getting it. They think American females are vile because they can't get laid. I think American females are vile because they are vile and I can get laid but I don't want to because.. American are vile.

[–]geengaween 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Oh you can get laid but you just don't want to. Ok then mate. Sure.

[–]Swordfish101101[🍰] -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Lol You're way behind the times, 'mate.' While fools like you are busy 'training' each other on how to get laid by whores (if you need someone to show you how to get laid by a WHORE, do you also need 8 hour training sessions how to boil water too? LOL) there is a huge number of perfectly decent looking guys out here who can get plenty of whores if we wanted to, which is all western women are.

I blow off & ignore women every day and yes, I'm a decent looking guy, athletic build with a good career & I actually have the no.1 criteria women are looking for: I'm over 6 ft. tall, 6'1 to be exact.. (only 14% of the population are over 6') and I work in a profession where I meet more people in a month than you do in a year. You can have all the STDs, us mgtows'll pass.

And yes, I've had plenty of sex in my life, but it's been some time now since. This hilariously naive, narrow minded & stupid as well as infantile notion that only short, hideous losers are mgtow is just lazy.

Never even once occurring to you that there is a HUGE sea of men in the world now that have been through the meat grinder that is engaging with women today, including marriage & children & have been horribly burned by back stabbing cunts with the help of the system that have now gotten smart. Do you even read the daily postings of endless news articles on this very sub of false accusations, child support & alimony horror stories along with one billion other ways women fuck over men today? Do you even know where you are? lol

[–]geengaween 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yeah nah I'm not buying it. This reads like a spiel written by an autist who's never connected with a woman in his life. Using a subreddit to form his opinions about what women as a population are like? You can't get much more autistic than that.

Eliot Rodger was a good looking dude too and he also couldn't understand why women hated him. You're not fooling anyone buddy, if you could actually get girls like a normal person you wouldn't be so bent out of shape with hate about them. You can be an attractive dude but if you're a sperg who makes everything awkward and weird then girls will run a mile.

And judging from what you write, you are definitely a sperg who makes everything awkward and weird.

[–]Swordfish101101[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

You're not fooling anyone buddy

'Buddy?' Lol Are you from the 1940s? No one talks like that anymore. No wonder you're so clueless.

Eliot Rodger was a good looking dude too and he also couldn't understand why women hated him.

Elliot Rodgers wasn't attractive to women! LOL He was a short & scrawny little spoiled brat - just about the exact opposite of what women are looking for.

if you could actually get girls like a normal person you wouldn't be so bent out of shape with hate about them. You can be an attractive dude but if you're a sperg who makes everything awkward and weird then girls will run a mile. And judging from what you write, you are definitely a sperg who makes everything awkward and weird.

I have 2 grown children & a grandchild, Rain Man. Don't ever become a private detective- you would starve because you can't sniff your way out of a cardboard box. And my personal life has nothing to do with the state of women today. You might want to look at the actual sub you're on & figure out what it's about- all these daily false accusations of rape in the feed constantly don't make themselves no more than a gun jumps off a table by itself & shoots someone. And there's a full blown epidemic of false accusations by women now. Good luck with all that!

Not to even mention there is a huge movement growing everyday called 'MGTOW.' Looks like you're way behind the times.

'Buddy?' Lol Are you from the 1940s? No one talks like that anymore. No wonder you're so clueless.

Oh no, grandpa thinks I'm uncool and is accusing me of talking how people talk in the year he was born, whatever shall I do, surely I will never recover from this sick burn.

fukiNN Chu IZZ NAwtt FoolIn Ne1 cUZZ, gET teh FuKK oWt wiT daT ShiZZ yo

Is that cool enough for you dawg? Want me to slap some dank memes in there too? I aim to please, I wouldn't want you to think that I was a lame waster.

all these daily false accusations of rape in the feed

And on the feminist subs there's constant postings of domestic violence and men killing their partners, doesn't mean there's an "epidemic" of male violence against women. You'd have to be really stupid or really naive to think that the selective news that gets posted to a special interest subreddit is an accurate indicator of the state of society.

I get it, you've led a sheltered life and now all this internet information at once is too scary for your old brain, go read a book or something grandpa. Don't forget to take your pills before bedtime

How is it fair to publish male celebrities sexual habits and hang ups? I know for a fact if one of these men published the pros and cons of dating Taylor Swift it would be seen as disgusting, invasive, and sexist. This is all so insulting. Conor, don't get back with her if she's gonna sell your sexual hang ups.
