Yes, I would imagine that fighting an imaginary enemy is very exhausting indeed. Firebrand preachers in the South also work up quite a sweat railing against Satan.

In all honesty this is nothing more than cynical marketing playing on female insecurities and delusions. It's not all flattering to women that this sort of advertising apparently works.

[–]Swordeater 35 points36 points37 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think men need more sleep because we have to deal with the result of this bullshit.

[–]fengpi 25 points26 points27 points 9 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Every day, a Feisty Feminist Warrior fights 5 battles in the first three minutes.

She battles the oppressive unrelenting patriarchal weight of the air pressure pressing-down upon her face as she wakes-up. She battles the patriarchal friction of her eyelids sliding-open across her eyeballs. She battles the oppressive patriarchal sensation of cotton sheets upon her body as she struggles to remove herself from them. She battles the oppressive hetero-cissexist white supremacist ableist lookist fat-phobic shaming of her body-weight transitioning onto the soles of her feet, for gravity always holds women down. And then she battles the long, hard, patriarchal slog down the hall to the bathroom to fearlessly rub her righteous fists against the patriarchal crusts in the corners of her eyes. Take that, oppressive eye-crust!

Yes, today's modern pink-haired warrior-princess lives in a state of near-constant empowerment and near-constant struggle against oppression. I Don't Know How She Does It. The stress would probably kill a typical man.

Most of these same feisty females would find that doing the actual work often takes far less effort than fighting against said work.

[–]fengpi 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm sure they're very hard-working. Selfies and Tumblr posts don't come from no where. They're not stuff like roads and hospitals and houses and food, which all fall-out of the sky fully-formed.

[–]topstrok20141 point 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Exactly. Men cater too much to them. There's a reason men ignore their incessant nonstop chatter. There should be a mute button.

Faux Battles Resulting In Faux Injuries and Faux PTSD. Such a Lazy way to view the world!

War has changed. Now you get PTSD from: "I disagree with you..."

[–]Mashiki 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]mwobuddy 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Hey, at least there's no green dyed armpit hair.

Would still bang, I give 7/10.

[–]Aeponix 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She's probably just a hired model. I doubt she's actually the one saying these things.

[–]future_value 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's definitely some kind of ad rather than good-faith political activism

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This basically means either a) men are inherently the enemy and can't be allies, or b) men are better than women at fighting the patriarchy.

So it's sexist either way.

[–]Booty_Canoe 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why is it never a strong, vibrant and opalescent hair color? They always have this washed out style with bleach blonde showing through and natural color coming out in the roots. Because it adds that flavor of hobo grease?

[–]TransFatAcceptance 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fighting imaginary enemies is rather tiring... So much time spent and no progress to show

[+]EngineerinLA points 9 years ago [recovered] (19 children) | Copy Link

This is just the opposite bullshit too what Trump voters believe about the "war" on white men. As a white man, I know no one is waging a war on me. And most women should know there is no Patriarchy holding them down. But it suits special interest groups to keep people believing they are persecuted.

No woman is going to benefit by squashing men, just like no white man is going to benefit from squashing brown people. It's false equivalencies written by assholes who like to keep folks dumb and angry.

[–]revengeofthedirty47 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You don't believe there's a social war against white men?

and this coming from a black dude.

[–]imthewiseguy 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

His white male privilege is blinding him to his privilege /s

[–]Aeponix 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Umm, what?

There are so many groups that plan out how little white men deserve versus how much women and minorities deserve as compensation for not being white men.

Diversity quotas are EVERYWHERE.

Also, how are university slots, scholarships, and jobs given to women or minorities over white men, simply because they are white men and "don't need assistance", not squashing white men? Those women and minorities are benefitting from squashing white men.

I think the people who intentionally want to make white men's lives worse are in the minority, but if you dont think we suffer from collateral damage when everyone else's lives are improved and we're left at the curb, you don't really pay attention.

How is any of these comments indicative of a "war on white males"? There's nothing keeping folks from poor towns from moving to an area with jobs available and working except their own desire not to. In the 1930's an entire society of farm owners picked up stakes and moved to California. This is why we have southern accents outside of Bakersfield today.

I too feel no sympathy for those who only blame others for their lack of opportunity. No one handed me anything because I'm white and posses a penis. I had to work hard in school, and prove myself at my job to get promoted. The USA doesn't owe white men anything. Especially if you chose to not finish high school or attain any skills. You aren't owed the right to stay in your hometown and owed a job in an industry that doesn't exist anymore.

Who's crying for the stable boys, the horse shit scoopers, and the blacksmiths who made horse shoes who were all replaced by the car? I won't cry for the coal miners either.

The USA is a land of opportunity, not a land of guaranteed white male privilege.

There's nothing keeping folks from poor towns from moving to an area with jobs available

Moving and setting up a new home in an area that is probably more expensive is...er...expensive. Not to mention that if others do the same thing the jobs may be gone by the time you get there.

[+]EngineerinLA points 9 years ago [recovered] (11 children) | Copy Link

So just hang out in the same dead town waiting for a hand out...

Sounds like welfare to me.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Welfare. You mean that thing you're going on when you get to the big cities and all the jobs have already been taken by other poor, desperate bastards?

[+]EngineerinLA points 9 years ago [recovered] (9 children) | Copy Link

I'm advocating taking some initiative and going to places with better opportunities. These magical places are called cities. What you're saying is quit without trying.

No wonder people voted for Trump. Since they didn't think the Democrats gave enough hand outs to their club, they figured he would. Meanwhile he won't do anything to help the poor folks who voted for him. Unless you're a part of the 1%. He gave his best attempt to overthrow the Affordable Care Act. Now he'll give himself and his ilk a nice fat tax break.

I say stop living nostalgically and work to improve your lot. Stop waiting for a hand out.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

How the fuck did Trump get dragged into this?

[+]EngineerinLA points 9 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

Go back and read it again.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Shouldn't you be bashing a homeless person?

[–]EngineerinLA0 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You can't give a response, so you troll.

Troll on without me.

[–]ThePigmanAgain1 point 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yep, everyone who disagrees with your twisted worldview is a troll. Funny, you don't seem to be a liberal...

[–]EngineerinLA0 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No, you stopped attempting to discuss and started making comments on "why Trump" and "homeless bashing."

The main point is that white men aren't being repressed. Your job not being brought back to your hometown isn't oppression. It's economics. I brought up Trump because he specifically has been telling white men they are oppressed and he will being their jobs back. It's a lie, and he won't do any of those things. He'll just keep blaming Democrats and the media for his failings.

So feel free to disagree, but don't troll.

[–]ThePigmanAgain1 point 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

LOL! Any excuse to bash Captain Cheeto, hey? As for white men, they may not be oppressed as whites -- not yet -- but they sure is oppressed as men.

[–]EngineerinLA0 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Who's bashing? And your last sentence makes me say: have another one one me. You're not as think as you drunk you am.

[–]red-african-swallow 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How do people live in California honest question. Weathers nice but that I got.

[–]chambertlo 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women can sleep while men are busy getting shit done. You can't get shit accomplished in your sleep.

[–]feedmecarrots 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's fake, because, like Wonder Woman, she has no armpit hair.

[–]Wraeclast_Exile 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm so tired of hearing about "patriarchy". None of these dumb bitches can tell me what the fuck it is.

It's some "invisible force" that.. blah blah.. what?

[–]Blutarg 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's a social structure that gives all power to men, yet still allows a billboard to speak against it in one of the world's biggest cities.

[–]Wraeclast_Exile 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

haha! Nicely put. :)

[–]topstrok20142 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The lazy always have ready excuses for needing more sleep! If one truly suffers from needing sleep, the most likely culprit is defective nutrition -- vitamins and minerals. My sympathies to those poor souls that medically are required to have more sleep.

[–]Blutarg 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol

[–]dontpet 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought it might be ironic advertising but looked on their site. They had a few similar items on display. Seems more cynical than ironic but not heartfelt on reflection.

I'm not in America so don't know if this fashion brand is well known.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women want more sleep than men because women are lazy cows, is more like it.

[–]imthewiseguy 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
