It's bizarre how many women assume the worst of men. I had an incident where I was playing with my nephew at a playground and for some reason some woman came up and started demanding to know who I was and why I was playing with a child. I told her I'm his uncle and she said, "Well, I had to check, I've never seen you around here and you never can be too safe." I was thinking about giving her a piece of my mind about how absurd it is that she assumes the worst of people and why she thinks it's her place to be the neighborhood vigilante, but I decided against it. She seemed like the type who'd take my picture, run off and then post something on Facebook about what a creep I am. It's terrifying what people can do to you by plastering your face on social media.

[–][deleted] 107 points108 points109 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I wonder if staying quiet about things like this is the reason this keeps happening. You were minding your own business when a complete stranger walked up to you and started demanding something through intimidation, that's textbook harassment.

These women are the ones that should be shamed on social media instead of the handicapped. Shame is a great educational tool, it's just unfortunate that at the moment it's being used against innocent people, so why not direct it at the real aggressors.

One photo of your harasser with the caption "Neighbourhood Vigilante" would be more than enough for her to never do that again.

[–]Castigale 29 points30 points31 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Ding! ding! ding!

You're never gonna get any respect for keeping silent. Going a step further, should any stranger accost you in public for no good reason, the proper response is always righteous indignation. Don't let that shit slide, stand your ground if you can do so safely. If you're a law abiding citizen, you've done nothing to warrant being accused or suspected of anything nefarious. Sad to say it, but men have to stand up for their rights to exist in public spaces sometimes. Children are NOT the sole domain of women, men are just as entitled to look after and provide for young ones as they are.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Good luck with that, I'm not putting my neck out for that because while you are 100% right in theory, I'm not going to risk my career and reputation taking on women like this, you really can't win. Attract one and she sends a batshitcrazy signal and before you know it you are surrounded by harpies. These are scenarios a man will never win in, no matter how right he is.

[–]Castigale 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You'd be surprised how quickly most people back down from a real confrontation. Most people just puff themselves up until someone calls them out on it. But you have a point, and that's why its paramount that you ARE actually in the right here.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yea I was mainly using the above example in the park as the scenario in question. Even though you are 100% in the right and are just at the park with your niece, nothing you say will be able to "win" that argument or confrontation with a woman in this scenario. In fact, in the eyes of most strangers on the street, a man arguing with a woman like that, with zero indication of the context, has already lost his frame and is seen as the aggressor and therefore "loser" of whatever is at hand, no matter how clear cut it may be.

[–]Castigale 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're not wrong, but that's where I'd say don't cause a scene. Keep it short, and forceful. There's no need to continue an argument with a "holier than tho" type. They have no business meddling with you, let them know it and be done.

[–]JustHereForTheBacon 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I disagree. If there's one thing SJW's love it's a confrontation to validate their belief that they're actually "warriors". There's more than enough evidence in the ubiquitous online videos of these confrontations. Many young women and suburban housewives live for this kind of drama.

[–]Castigale 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I haven't really seen many people standing up to them. They almost always shrink back, and/or avoid them as much as possible. This is what gives the feminist the impression that they have the higher ground both morally and socially.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

yeah, and the whole 'pedophile hysteria' is really getting fucking old. Like if you see something really fucking weird, then yes, by all means, inquire or call the cops, but there isn't a horde of pedophiles out there descending on every fucking playground. I blame the media and sexual offender registries tbh because 1. the media overplays pedophilia as this epidemic when in reality it's a very minor group, and even smaller when you account for the amount of pedos that actually ACT on the urges, and 2. sexual offender registries are bloated with tons of questionable inclusions like '19 vs 17 year old' or people that pee'd in public, among other things. I think we need to reflect on the damage this kind of irresonsibilty is causing

edit: and just to add one thing - even among pedophiles that do ACT on the urges, it's usually not them sauntering into a playground and diddling some parents' kid right then and there. The honest to god truth is most pedophiles that act on it are the ones you trust, in your lives, watching your fucking kids. I had a really nice uncle that no one suspected was diddling the boys for the longest time, til they fucking told us about it. The pedophiles that are a real danger, the actual danger, are those that hide it well and have gained your trust. The idea that hooded pedos are spying out parks is just not all that based in reality. That kind of thing is fairly rare

[–]HotDealsInTexas 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's because an entire generation has been taught by the media that men are scary and dangerous.

[–][deleted] 29 points30 points31 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She only did that because you're a man, if you had a vagina she would not have given you playing with a child a second thought.

Next time some bitch wants to do that to you, to really knock her for a good one, tell her you're a trans man (FtM) and take her photo, and say you're going to post about how she's being transphobic, use their own tactics against them.

[–]IAmAGoodPersonn 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I can assure you, this is not a normal thing where I live, but I always hear absurd things about this issue in US, nobody will stop and ask who you are and why you're playing with a child here, this is insane

[–]Castigale 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It really depends on the part of the US that you live in. Where I'm from, I've never had any issues, and I used to babysit my step sister, and her few of her friends every summer. Granted I was in my early 20's, but I still expected to at least get weird stares in public, but it just never happened.

[–]Novaer 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Man-hating women =/= SJWs though. The hoity toity "can I speak to the manager" haircut, wine drinking, soccer mom with a Scentsy business woman could very well be a conservative type who find trans or gay people revolting.

It would probably just make her fly to Facebook to talk about how any man can claim to be a woman and they're all just sex perverts. So it fucks up the view of men AND trans people at the same time.

[–]Nydusurmainus 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I worked in childcare mate and I know all about that mate. It's fuckin bad out there

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I would have replied with "Its none of your god damned business" The let the police arrest me, and sued the fuck out of the state.

[–]tried_it_liked_it 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Thankfully most police officers wouldn't waste their time or paper work to do this. Unless you are just the unluckiest person ever and you get the worst cop available. Most cops are just doing their jobs and like most of us, don't like wasting their time.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I read one story of it happening and with most police Ive worked with wouldnt do that either.

[–]tried_it_liked_it 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

From a legal stand point what could he even be charged with?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

"Resisting Arrest"

[–]tried_it_liked_it 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

But what was he being arrested for? Standing in a park?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

In the US you can be arrested for resisting arrest

[–]tried_it_liked_it 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Right. But what are they arresting you for to begin with?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thst's what I'm saying: Nothing.

[–]7a7p 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shit. I would have informed her that who I am is none of her business and that if she continues to harass me she'll be speaking with law enforcement. I take my son to the park to have fun. I don't go to answer crazy-bitch challenge questions.

[–]tjstrato 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not bizarre. We are all taught from a young age that males are dangerous, aggressive rapists. We are not to be trusted and assuming the worst is perfectly acceptable. This shit needs to change.

Because everyone alive today has had a hand in creating this fear society.

[–]CallingOutYourBS 26 points27 points28 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, "everyone" doesn't. Plenty of people work to correct the misconceptions. Being unable to rewrite society on our own doesn't mean were are in ANY way supporting that fearmongering.

[+]mwobuddy -15 points-14 points-13 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Stereotypes and generalizations are about the majority population.

[–]CallingOutYourBS 20 points21 points22 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You made one statement. That everyone contributes. It's false. It's a poor generalization used so lazy people that DO reinforce it can feel better about not doing anything.

YOU 100% definitely have a hand in creating the fear society, that's what your generalization just helped reinforce. Everyone sure as fucking hell doesn't.

To be clear, that's NOT a generalization. It's a direct statement that you, personally, are part of the problem, because you do things like reinforce the idea it's inevitable and everyone is doing it.

[–]7a7p 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very relevant user name.

[–]kutuup1989 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess my response would be to not let it drop, when she says "Oh well, just checking, you can't be too careful.", pursue it.

Say "Wait, what exactly did you think was going on here?" and see what her answer is. Then keep up the questions. "Why did you think that?" "What was I doing that looked suspicious?" "Why would I be here in public if I were up to something?"

You pretty much have to steer them into coming to the realization themselves that they're being a rude idiot.

[–]Electroverted 89 points90 points91 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

As usual, why do these women get the right to privacy? It's 99% likely this was a public post, because of all the shares, so she should face those repercussions.

This just proves men are naturally predators.. right?? right?

[–]mwobuddy 14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

being a strange man who talks to people and doesnt know social cues is creepy, in fact, its proof there's a sex driven parking lot or alleyway attack in those women's future. They did the world a service by exposing this highly dangerous individual because he said hi to them.

[–]soalone34 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How practical is this paranoia even? The impression I always got were that predators were usually close to the victim and deceptive, charming, and manipulative.

Feminism is a hate movement

[–]mtfreestyler 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I live in Melbourne so saw this on Facebook as soon as it came out.

All it looked like was some diatribe from an angry woman who wanted to shame some guy.

How could I believe her word for what she is saying. It could have been anyone on that tram that made her angry or didn't give her a seat.

I never commented on it though because if I did it would be bad for my career which I hate since feminists can say whatever biased sexist crap they want.

I was quite happy when I saw it was an autistic man and it backfired on her. But still a little pissed about what if it wasn't. What recourse would he have had? Probably nothing. Just be forever known as that creeper

[–]SolongStarbird 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow look how well 3WF is working out.

Stupid fucking 3WF and SJW.

[–]7657657657656 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I think, from this point forward, it would be prudent to avoid women altogether. What is the best case scenario? Sex with the man doing all the lifting and initiating and "reading signals" and treating her like fucking Goldilocks? Not worth it.

Who the fuck do women think they are? What the fuck is going on? This entire equality think was a fucking ruse. It's always us doing all the lifting. It's always us taking the risks. You'd think, based on women being slightly more than half the population, and based on the way people talk, that women and men would be virtual equals. These spoiled women aren't even pretending. Then they get half because otherwise that's unfair.

They will never stick their neck on the line. They will be ruthlessly judgemental then complain about being alone. They say gender roles are wrong, but has anyone interacted with women in 2016? The gender roles are still there, the only difference is the woman had sex with 100 men before you and yes, she will be judging your body accordingly. What, are you insecure? That's toxic masculinity. Now ask her out, but don't be creepy. And remember, you're not entitled to anything and you're part of rape culture. Now go ask her out. You, do the work, so that you never forget who is really in charge.

Fuck your society. Fuck all of you. Fuck you. Fuck you fuck you. You ruined sex. You ruined marriage. You ruined life. Enjoy your fucking pills.

[+]Karissa36 -7 points-6 points-5 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I think it's obvious that he is seriously lacking in empathy for HALF THE POPULATION. Not an attitude I support.

[–]Siganid 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Dealing with people that apply a double standard that it's acceptable for women to have no empathy for men but men who do it are wrong is what creates his mindset.

Why is it wrong for him to respond to women like he's been treated? Men are supposed to behave to a higher standard of behavior than women? How else would he react?

Over half the population has no empathy for men, so he's angry. Your response is to tut-tut him because he's not giving more than he receives in our unequal culture?

Where's your empathy? You lose it somewhere?

[+]Karissa36 -6 points-5 points-4 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It is utter nonsense that HALF THE POPULATION has no empathy for men.

[–]Siganid 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You might be right. It's probably more like 99% of the population:

https://youtu.be/dtVHnZX8E50

[–]Siganid 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You know what? I'm not done here.

What do you think you prove by shaming a man who is in distress? I know what you prove.

Feminists keep asking for equality.

Our society tells raped men they aren't real.

Our society tells men that experience domestic violence they aren't real.

Our society tells men who have mutilated genitals that they it would be a big deal worth panicking over if they were women.

On and on, men are told their problems don't matter. Men's problems are intentionally misrepresented in statistics by feminists in order to hide male victims. When you join reddit you are automatically subscribed to twox because women are more important.

When a man finally reaches a breaking point you show up to put him back in line by shaming him for not having empathy for women? Fuck you. You know nothing of his problems. How fucking dare you.

I sincerely hope women get the equality they keep asking for. It's not fun being a victim and getting told to shut up about it because your problems aren't real. I hope feminists get to experience that. Maybe equality will teach them empathy.

Privilege definitely hasn't.

[–]Karissa36 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Once again, blaming every woman ever born for current problems is stupid, immature, self-centered and dishonest. It is also misogynistic. Men's rights issues should be addressed in a rational manner. Not by just indulging in hate rants against women.

[–]Siganid 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right back to holier than thou judging huh? No self awareness or empathy?

Keep fighting against equality. See where it goes.

I specifically blame bigots like you.

Feminists are the number one ableists.

[–]Taylor1391 12 points13 points14 points 9 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

According to the story, he was waving his hands in people's faces. I don't care if you're a man or not, or autistic or not. Waving your hand in someone's face is a good way to get them pissed off at you.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points29 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Well yes, but context is everything. People of good judgement will surely react differently to an autistic person doing it than say, a person without disability.

This man was probably showing signs of disability (example being the hand waving) and for this girl to ignore those signs shows her immaturity and more likely: her desire to push her ideology.

[–]Alarid 16 points17 points18 points 9 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

"I saw every other person giving him high fives, so of course I was scared for my life when he came up to me."

There's no reason to be scared for your life, but harassment doesn't mean being made afraid for your life. Obviously the article calling it "dominant behavior" is bullshit, but it was without a doubt harassment.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn't be so quick to label his actions as harassment considering he is mentally handicapped and his actions described were barely above the level of nuisance.

[+]Taylor1391 -11 points-10 points-9 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's a fair point, someone without a disability should've been kicked off the train but society makes allowances for people with disabilities all the time.

You mean society gives disabled people a little more space to express themselves since they do it differently? And even if this guy was not disabled, no one deserves to be harassed for something like that

I 100% agree with your logic. Very sound reasoning.

HOWEVER, I downvoted you for being a shitty human piece of horse dump with zero empathy and sky rocketed self entitlement probably inflated to unrealistic proportions by retarded Harpies you're surrounded with, probably raised by a stupid slut single mother and a pussy daddy that regularly got fucked in the ass by your mom with a strap on the size of your fat covered around your neck, your smelly vagina and hairy armpits you hold high as a sign of awesomeness and your shit stained asshole because men would leave you after 1 fuck , you pathetic piece of dumb shit. Choke on a dick, get literally shat on, drink piss and go to hell.

Cheers cunt. :-)

Yeah but so what. He wasn't waving a gun in their faces, at worst he was being annoying. Again: so fucking what. Get over yourselves. If that's what you have to "deal with" in life then get fucked.

Being annoying is harassment though, so..

Wow. And i thought statements like this were reserved for the mindsets of those like Clementine Ford.

I don't care if you're a man or not, or autistic or not. Waving your hand in someone's face is a good way to get them pissed off at you.

You might not care if someone is autistic or not...that's fine, and entirely your opinion, but it has absolutely no bearing on the capacity of an autistic person to understand that waving their hand in someone's face might cause a negative reaction.

So you think him getting slandered on-line and his life compromised by social justice vigilantes was the right response to this? Because that's the issue here.

No, but I do think he should've been stopped from getting up in people's faces.
