Hello, officer? I'm planning to have sex 24 hours from now. Can you please give me your mom's address?

[–]bassofkramer 39 points40 points41 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

maybe he could call in everyday and say something along those lines until they stop the order.

[–]chocoboat 11 points12 points13 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's what I would do. Make it part of my daily routine, and come up with a variety of ways to phrase it.

[–]unpicked-username 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"I would like to see your supervisor"

"Hi supervisor, I was wondering what your daughter's address was"

Or only do it once with a very general statement to the fact that he intends to have sex with any woman he can seduce every day for the next few years.

Im sure the EUCHR would overrule this shit if you challenged it.

its an absolute affront to your human rights and specifically right to privacy and family life. (article 8)

shame on the UK, they dont realise that shit laws like this turn normal people who follow the law off being law abiding citizens

something being illegal has no impact on me morally because shit like this exposes its arbitrary hysterical composition.

[–]Steven054 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Most laws are stupid, really just follow your moral compass and don't be a dick, it's really that simple.

[–]topsecreteltee 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not only are most laws stupid, you can be arrested at any time for any reason. There are so many legal (or legal enough) bullshit excuses that the only thing keeping people out of lock up is the paperwork.

[–]tothecatmobile 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course it would.

Why do you think the Conservatives want to opt out of it?

[–]manicmonkeys 16 points17 points18 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Soooo no details about what basis the police did this on?

I definitely think it's bullshit regardless, the idea of restricting someone's ability to have sex with consenting adults is absurd.

[–]Hzle 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

well it basically means no sex or break the law. You're hardly going to break off and say "can we reconvene tomorrow? I have to tell the police first"

[–]manicmonkeys 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. TBH, regardless of the circumstances (For example, even if he was found guilty of rape), I don't really think restricting someone's freedom to have sex is sensible.

But ESPECIALLY without him having been found guilty of anything in a court of law....what the ever loving fuck?

I don't think it's a coincidence that the British write the best dystopian fiction...

[–]dwsi 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well shit, 2 years ago I wouldn't have thought this real.

[–]no-more-religion 10 points11 points12 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What the actual fuck have we come to?

[–]BigJ76 23 points24 points25 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is the world that SJWs and Feminists are making for us

Whee are these men going along with this shit, I wish it was my job to go around shaking them until they snap outta it.

[–]RobDog101 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My favorite part of this piece was the loads of context.

[–]turn30left 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Haha loads.

[–]RobDog101 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More loads than an all-night bukkake party.

[–]Whisper 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder if it would be possible to organize local York men in sort of an "I am Sparticus" response... have all of them call the local police every day with their sexual plans for the next 24 hours.

[–]N1cko1138 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So fucking any dude is still free game without mentioning it to the popo?

[–]Kinbaku_enthusiast 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He was not convicted this time, but he has been convicted previously. He's on the sex offender's list.

[+]Dazz316 -11 points-10 points-9 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It does specifically mention that it applies to both genders so it's not really men's rights in this occasion but more of a specific man's rights in this occasion.

Someone mentioned he has a previous history and is on the sex offenders register. If true this is a more understandable situation but no source on that.

As in the law is the same for both rich people and poor people since no one is allowed to sleep under bridges.

The detail that stuck out to me was that he was acquitted at a re-trial. It may be that he got off on some technicality and a judge reasonably agreed he could be a threat to others.

Still sounds like bullshit but the BBC may be misrepresenting for the lulz.
