Every morning at work, everyone sits down together and goes over the work that needs to be done that day as well as any appointments in which members might need to be absent from the office for. Today one of my coworkers stated that his wife had to go downtown to take care of some business and that he would need to leave work so he could take care of his kids while she was gone. The supervisor wanted to clarify that he had the information correctly and ends by saying "So you need to babysit your kids?" The father then replies "I guess when the father does it, it is babysitting." And everyone chuckles.

What kind of world do we live in where a father watching their own children is considered babysitting, and not fathering or parenting. I didn't even know how to react to this.
