Although I'm sure gender will be a factor in the sentencing (which hasn't occurred yet, according to the article) it should also be noted that the man has a record, which very often leads to a longer sentence in case of further offences, while the woman does not.

Worth noting:

In July, the sentences came out- He got 2-1/2 years, she got time served.

His previous charge was cocaine trafficking, 8 years, which he served without incident.

Look, in no way will anyone defend what they did. But the way this was handled is ridiculous. The article doesn't even address the difference in the sentences, "he had priors, so it's K" is the only thing on that account. I would support them both getting the sentence she got.

And the line the prosecutor gave:

“We gave them a reasonable offer, what we felt was reasonable, and they decided it wasn’t something they wanted to accept responsibility for,”

"Reasonable" is very subjective, you nitwit. The length of the sentence should not be based on the person but on the act, one person can not and should not get a different sentence for the same act just because his prior criminal record is fuller.

So dry-humping, which is reasonably probable to have occurred is an offence serious enough to send a man to prison for 15 years? Is the test for prosecutors the same as for cops in US (in regards to their IQ)?

We all know what verdict that will be. In any case it's been 7 months now, were they sentenced already? I can't find anything more on this other than these old articles.

And yeah, the same old tired argument but had the roles been reversed and the woman would be the one with the priors, I doubt we'd see an approximately 90:1 jail time ratio in favour of the man.

Humans have been making fuck on beaches for literally centuries.

There are places in the world where no one would even bat an eye at a couple engaging in the most basic desire that humans have after food and water.

I get that little Timmy should not be seeing this. I agree.

I propose that beaches have a area where sexy time is allowed and where kids are not. A place where one can be naked in the sand.

We can call them "Nude Beaches" or something like that.
