This. Should we turn into oversensitive femi maninazis, or what? I think not.

It's promoting violence with innuendo.

Does anyone care that women play football? It's not the 1950's anymore.
It's like if someone made a poster of a guy with long hair with a caption like "I have long hair, deal with it."
It's like okay... that has been fine since about 1960 so I'm not sure what your point is?

Girl is portrayed brave for playing a generally well liked and socially acceptable sport.

I DESTROY HOLES. DEAL WITH IT!!! (With a picture of a Dentist)

It's just amazing that this is allowed.
It's attempting to make a joke or word-play about a women sexually attacking a man by kicking his testicles.
All the organisations concerned will have very strict policy on gender equality/sexism etc.
The Lottery Fund Sport England
etc.

Thanks. I submitted a complaint.
I am normally against all the grievance mongering nonsense, but the subject of domestic violence against men doesn't seem like it will ever be taken seriously unless men start to demand it is.
I really like the campaign overall. But they could have easily pulled this one off by having it say "I play with balls. Deal with it." There is no need at all for the violence pun.

Good point, well made. glad i could help by giving the contact details

I can't believe they have to be sexist to prove their point that there shouldn't be sexism. to make a gender violence reference is even worse.

Maybe if it was Hope Solo...

I dont get it, does anyone care if girls play soccer or not?
[–]Wargame4life -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
no that's not what this add is about its trying to get more women exercising not more women in football.
the deal with it, is aimed at other women who don't exercise or think exercising is gross
[–]Wargame4life 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
you could actually get this advert withdrawn (seriously) the UK advertising standards agency would withdraw it if you pointed out that it makes a "word play" on implied gender violence, and it would go to a review panel that could actually withdraw it. (its not a guarantee)
personally it doesn't bother me because its a joke and im not a precious little delicate snowflake.
also the campaign is aimed at women not men, the "get over it" is actually aimed at women since the entire campaign is to inspire women to get off their fat arses and do some fucking exercise.
hence the tv add is about being comfortable about exercising and jiggling in the presence of other women.
[–]kizzan 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Reverse the genders and give the men in the picture a phrase that has a double meaning so that it can imply he is violent towards women and see what happens.

btw is this in london? looks like the underground.
[–]SCROTAL-SACK 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's also on mainstream TV adverts. I'm amazed it's allowed just like that.
[–]modern_rabbit 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Meh just a joke...
[–]seego79 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Meh, its a private company bigging up women to make them feel better and to buy into their brand and purchase their products. nothing wrong with that, if they want to do that then its their perogative. i only have a problem when they have to undermine ment to do that and this doesn't really do this in my opinion.
