Men are fleeing the labor force because without families of which they are the head, there isn't sufcicient incentive to work

Feminism/sexual revolution (check out that timing below)= men don't have their seat at the head of the table of their family.

Men are fleeing the workforce because that's what was incentivizing them

Let's see how low the prime age male labor force participation rate can go, and how many nonproductive men a society can support

Women can enjoy being mommy and daddy, breadwinner and homemaker. Hope this is what you meant you wanted!

Up until the 1960s, work rates for prime age men in America were consistent and very high. And then starting in the mid 60s, something changed. And since about 1965, we have seen a relentless and almost (inaudible), consistent retreat from the workforce for those men. Today, the work rate for prime age men is lower than it was in early 1940, which is the only really good measurement we have for The Great Depression, comes from the census of that year. At that time, the unemployment level for America was almost 15%

Life of the average American male in the 50s

get a job in a week

save up money

buy a house

find a wife

have kids

invest well

retire

Average life of the average American male in 2020s

get into college

compete with 10000000000000 applicants worldwide for every job

wind up finding a lousy job

share a house with 5 other men

try to find a gf

they are all in the harems of the top 10% of men

become addicted to escapism

get told you're "depressed" because of chemical imbalance in the brain (it's totally not you just naturally reacting negatively to the state of the world, sweetie)

die with no family and (most likely) no house of your own unless you get lucky with an altcoin

And surprise surprise... more and more young men are dropping out of the labor force. It makes complete sense

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 8 points9 points  (8 children) | Copy Link

I'm starting to think the ones dropping out are the smartest

It's an each to their own thing I'd say. If you think the reward isn't the worth the effort then I'd say go for it if you can get by. But you have to have a purpose in life if you're going to NEET cruise through life otherwise you're just going to be depressed as hell.

If you think the reward is worth the effort then maybe yeah, go on the self improvement treadmill, do your best at work, play the career game, ask out 100000000s of women try every other app out there, live frugally for a decade or so to get on the property ladder, etc.

Lol I am absolutely unsurprised you are not working or educated.

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Made nearly a mil this year 🤷‍♂️

[–]RedditsOlderBrah -4 points-3 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Yep money really seems to have bought you happiness lol

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Smuggery against reddit strangers really seems to have helped you recovery from your whiny TrAuMa

[–]Admirable_Bee_8714 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Money makes your life easier and simplifies it. Which then leaves you with time to pursue the things that bring you happiness. So money may not make you happy but it certainly allows you to dedicate time to things that make you happy.

They are. When you really pause and think about it, a man needs very little to actually survive and live in comfort. Very little overhead if you are willing to live a spartan life. Save most of your income, prioritize your health and what you eat. Just think of the overhead that comes with having a family and what you need to accommodate for. Those giant homes with 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms aren't made for single men, they are made for women who want to nest and grow their brood.

It will be interesting what happens because men are the backbone of the economy. There is a limit to how many do nothing female diversity jobs there can be.

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Apparently there isn't a limit

[–]Admirable_Bee_8714 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

They think there isn't but we are about to find out. Don't think for a minute that companies haven't sat up and taken notice of the absolute gutting Elon has done at Twitter and how they haven't missed a beat.

[–]RedditsOlderBrah 3 points4 points  (29 children) | Copy Link

What profession are you in that has left you of the opinion that women aren't capable of working effectively?

[–]HateSpeechFanBoy 6 points7 points  (28 children) | Copy Link

I work in banking and finance. They are given bs roles that are not needed and then they get free holidays when they shit out kids.

I am not talking about my field. There are next to no female plumbers, builders, miners, truck drivers, sanitation workers etc. Essential jobs which females think are beneath them and never campaign for “equal representation” in

Lol

I guess you've never even visited a blue collar job union website. There is a massive push for female representation in these fields. I was an avionics technician once upon a time. Plenty of women. Very competent. Handy to get into really tight parts of the aircraft. Don't know why I'm telling you this lol you think women's brains are small like someone from the 1800s

[–]HateSpeechFanBoy 6 points7 points  (26 children) | Copy Link

I used to work in insurance where I had to deal with plumbers and I must have dealt with thousands of plumbers and there wasn’t a single female plumber

[–]RedditsOlderBrah -2 points-1 points  (25 children) | Copy Link

Wow. Almost like they were institutionally discouraged from those jobs and now there's more of them!

[–]HateSpeechFanBoy 4 points5 points  (24 children) | Copy Link

No, they don’t want to do those jobs. They want to do male dominated jobs like my one because you sit in an air conditioned office all day

[–]RedditsOlderBrah -5 points-4 points  (23 children) | Copy Link

Haha you're like a little kid where the only things that exist are the things in your orbit. Like I served in the military, and the women I worked with were not in air conditioned offices. Almost like 4 billion people are hard to generalise!

[–]HateSpeechFanBoy 4 points5 points  (22 children) | Copy Link

They campaign for equal representation on company boards and other cushy jobs but not hard physical jobs that men do that pay well.

[–]RedditsOlderBrah -3 points-2 points  (21 children) | Copy Link

How dare they show a preference for comfortable, well paid positions!

[–]NotARussianBot1984 2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I've given up on dating but now try harder in career with more free time. Why bother? No incentive for vanilla dating. I used my 20s to improve, education, career, fitness, approaching girls. But the results sucked. Now I'm 30 I'd rather keep rocking my career and just dat sugar babies for a semester here and there.

What else should I do with my money? I'm not materialistic. And great sex is the best in life.

I think educated men might do that more often, or retire to Thailand.

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

sugar babies

Raw?

[–]NotARussianBot1984 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya, sometimes they wait a few dates. If a girl is having fun, she will ask to go without. I never pressure them, I just state I'm open to it. If a girl doesn't, she's probably a escort really.

[–]SumatraStew 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

shits really done for males in 2023, even 2/10 girls have ppl hitting them up 24/7 while avg guys might get 1 person hitting them up in a year if even that

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

Men ‘ruled’ for years, and also slaved away for years. Please ladies, go ahead.

In matriarchies like the Mosuo, children are raised by women and their kin. The women do all the work. The men chill all day

Coming to a social strata near you

Many such cases already

The best bit about these subs is if an idiot alludes to a source or provides it, you will win the argument simply by reading it. For example what you say about the Mosuo is true, but you neglected that men build houses, slaughter animals, and are prominent child-rearers for female relatives. They are also constantly cucked, with the father of a a Mosuo baby often not known for certain.

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Knowingly "cucked", but it's irrelevant because that's the way the structure is set up. Paternity certainly only matters in a society where there's an expectation of paternal investment, but since in the Mosuo they're raised by the woman and her kin, well, the woman knows it's her child

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Pogchamp!

[–]RatDontPanicAverage Unfrustrated Chump 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

And they live in fucking mud huts. Not a good society to weather an earthquake or hurricane.

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope, and it's happening

[–]SumatraStew 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

barelt scrapping up money and being ugly is fucking hard , i hate mondays

[–]ElectricBugs 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

There's a lot here to do about capitalism though. Feminism isn't to blame for that

[–]Eyesofmalice 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

It doesn’t really matter, you’d have to be stupid to be able not to work and choosing to for a soulless company.

It’s such a dumb argument anyway, if you could just have tons of one night stands, lots of girls chasing you, you wouldn’t think of marriage.

You’re deluded.

[–]Gomdofthefall[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Most people are commoners, hence the name

[–]Eyesofmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Precisely because most people are commoners they’re going to choose the path of least resistance, that is working as little as they can for as little as they can afford.

[–]Admirable_Bee_8714 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

McMansions aren't made for men.

[–]Anti_Thing 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep. My main motivation for applying myself when it comes to schooling & career is being able to provide for a family one day. If I didn't have that goal, I would likely choose some low paying career, such as being adjunct professor, or working part time for a charity or activist organization.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
