Back in September I was about to start a job in the oilfield. A few hours before I left I found out that my wife was cheating on me with one of her co-workers. After I blew my top and said I was done I came back later and we talked and she gave me the low down on everything. I told her that I wanted to try to fix our marriage and so did she. While I was gone for training out of town. We talked often over FaceTime about everything that had happened, and after I was gone for a week she decided to kill herself. She took our child to daycare and texted all the family and attempted up at her work in the parking lot. After I got the text I rushed back to our home town after getting a call from the local PD. She spent some time in a mental health facility after the hospital stay. And I ended up quitting my job to be closer to home. Now after I get back and I’m working in town again she tells me she isn’t in love with me anymore. I’m absolutely heartbroken. I’m being strong for our daughter and she has been really attached to me. We have been going to marriage counseling every week and she has been going to her own therapist. Obviously I need to as well. Most of my family doesn’t know what happened between us except for one person. I guess because I’m embarrassed of what she did to me and I’m afraid they’re going to tell me to give up. We have been married for 9 years and together for 11. I guess what I’m looking for is advice on what y’all would do in my position? She has past trauma that has made it difficult to talk about issues with me and apparently that has obviously built up in our marriage. I just don’t know if I’m beating a dead horse trying to keep my family together. Sorry for the long read.
