Seriously thinking about living separate but staying married. I want to live in another state and my wife would never move. We just bought a brand new house and everything in it. I would just pack up my small amount of items that I need and lease a place that is fully furnished.

I tried to move out around 8 months ago and she convinced me to stay. I think this might be the best thing we can do right now. I would stay take care of her financially and I would get the freedom to live on my own and be where I want to live.

She is an introvert who never likes to leave, and I want to go out to eat, hit the local pubs, go to festivals and fairs. I just want to have some mini adventures every now and then but she is dead set on never leaving the house or doing anything.

I am 50 years old and don’t want to be stuck in my house for the next 20-30 years of my life doing nothing. I make a lot of money and could travel the world if I wanted to all the time, but I would settle for the occasional day out just to live a little.

It’s tough because I love my wife and we have been married for 27 years. I have no issues paying for her life because we are still best friends.

The longer I stay, the more I just want to leave still.

Has anyone else tried to live separate? Did it work out for you? Is it just a crazy thought?

Appreciate everyone on here and all the support we get from each other. Thank you.
