I paid the 5k the judge awarded her which was a third of her expenses without a fight. This is not the thing you want to fight. There are other things you can fight. You don't have to entertain CPS visits if your kids are old enough to decide for them selves. You dont have to open door for cops on a false report unless they have a warrant. You don't have to entertain the court clerk roulette every time they milk you. You can sleep easy knowing this system is a farce designed to part you from your money by weaponizing your kids against you. If you believe you can lose them then the court has all the power over you. Be careful not to anger the judge. You have to wait until the stbx is seen as a pathological liar in court. Until then you have to play nice. If you have kids that are old enough to make decisions, then you can politely tell the child lawyers and every other agent of state to take a hike. This is a game of chess. Avoid playing checkers. Your anger is checkers

Yea, that's either not the whole story or you need to fight the judgment.

They can put a temporary order in place but can't put a permit order in place unless you have been served and don't show up.

If you were served and couldn't show up then you should have asked/motioned for a continuance.

If you don't pay then they file another motion for contempt. You could get jail time or they can't garnish wages/ seize assets. It can get nasty.

You have a super long and nasty divorce on the way bro. It's going to be financially and emotionally draining.

Man you wouldn’t believe the shit my ex pulled on me. She was cohabitating w a baby and totally lied her ass off about it and I’ve had to pay her almost $40k in temp maintenance.

Just think of everything that happened w you. Then imagine getting financially rewarded for all of this. My wife was cheating and got pregnant. The thought that she is getting financially rewarded for blowing up my entire past, present, and future is so out of this world bizarre and insane to me, I can’t even comprehend it.

The woman I married entered the marriage w one asset; the engagement ring I bought her. I had a house for 15+ years, my own business for 6+, a few hundred grand and she never once helped me w anything w the business and didn’t contribute one penny to the marriage. She wants an “equalization payment” that would be enough money for her and AP to buy a house. She moved out of my house and into an apt w the AP as her roommate (he didn’t even have his own place?), and now thinks I’m going to support her family for the next 48 months. It’s unreal. It’s one of those “hard to believe it’s real” kind of things.

The thing about fighting it is just to make sure that the fight is not more than the 2K. My lawyer charges 500 per hour. If it is going to take you more than 4 hrs to fight, it is not worth it.

My lawyer told me about a case that they fought for a salt and pepper shaker that in attorney fees was over 20K in divorce cases u have to keep a cool head. It is clear to me that the only purpose of your ex spouse is to make you miserable. But don't give her that satisfaction.

Lawyers want you to be as litigious as possible their goal is to keep 1/3 of the assets they are necessary but try to get into an agreement with your ex. Trust me it is super hard but it is the difference between you keep some of the money or lawyers.

I just don't see attorney fees being ex parte awarded. Did you skip a court date?
