File a parenting plan immediately and check (no support needed), she needs to sign first, then you file with the court and judge sings off on it. Only then is it valid, something on piece of paper is worthless

Be aware child support is modifiable, so any child support agreement in a settlement/decree basically means nothing. It's a common tactic for a wife to say "give me the house and I won't demand child support" then the husband signs, she gets the house then comes back later and tells the judge she needs child support and the judge will grant it. It's a bait-n-switch This happened to a buddy of mine who agreed to high alimony in place of CS and alimony, then his ex 3 months after the divorce filed for child support (which the judge granted with no change to the alimony) and he now gives her all his money and he lives in poverty.

You can’t waive child support. Child support is handled by support enforcement separate from family court. She can say that she won’t ask for it as a negotiation point. Then once everything is finalized she can got to support enforcement and get child support established. All support enforcement needs is the parenting plan. They will look your financial information up and calculate it from there. If she is using it as a bargaining chip, you are getting played.

Here is the deal. Nothing means anything until the court decides on what.

She can say, "Oh, I agree to 50/50 custody and $0 child support." She can say that 1000 times to you.

And guess what? The day of court, she turns around and says, "I can't give up my baby! I'm going to fight you to get visitation only, and I need maximum CS $'s!"

You can't take any woman at her word, and even having it written on 20,000 sheets of paper won't do you any good if she decides she wants CS after all (she will). As mentioned below, nothing is valid until the judge signs off on it, and even that is basically a "this is what is going to happen... for now." If you change jobs and are making a lot more money, you can bet she will go running for the family court, or if she decides she wants to have kids with another guy and needs money from you to pay for them, yep, you guessed it, she is running to family court.

The best way to somewhat protect yourself is starting from a position of power, i.e. you file first, and YOU ask for full custody and CS from her. Literally anything else and you are asking to be bent over and a vacuum inserted in your bank account.

How do I make sure she's true to her word before we go to court

In short, you can't. You can both agree to it and a judge might even approve it during the divorce process. There's really nothing you can do to prevent her from seeking child support at a later date. It's a hope for the best, plan for the worst kind of deal. Goes without saying that "no child support" isn't a good bargaining chip for you in this scenario. Curious - Do you have a lawyer? Are you certain that you're even on the hook for child support?

I looked up parenting plan, and found a website called rocketlawyer. I was able to make a parenting plan document stating all of our custody/child support agreements. At the end ask for signatures of both parties and a notary. Would this be valid?
