Hello everyone, I am dealing with a very annoying situation dealing with handling school clothes. This school year, I literally sat down with my daughter and spent over a thousand dollars on school clothes and asked her specifically to pick the clothes out so that she would be happy with what she wears. I partially did this because my daughter would complain to me often saying that she didn't like the clothes my ex had her wear and if I could buy her clothes she actually likes.

Her mother, my ex wife does this thing where when she picks her up for school, she would literally change her entire outfit into something else for school. The clothes are usually nice second hand clothes, but the clothes I buy her are nice 1st hand, really nice clothes and clothes that my daughter really wants to wear. It seems like my daughter is afraid of her mother and picks the old clothes over the new and clearly nicer clothes. I think my ex is jealous that she can't afford to buy her nice new clothes and is forcing my daughter to wear different clothes to get back at me.

When I bring this up to my daughter, she tries to ignore me and it's very annoying because I literally spent all of this money for nothing and they're really nice clothes that I can't even take back now. My daughter wants to wear the clothes I buy to nice events and stuff with me but refuses to wear the clothes I buy to school in fear of her mom.

So now, I am starting to not care to buy my daughter anymore clothes and save my money. I don't feel appreciated enough. Have any of you dealt with this, or do you have any advice on how to handle this? Thanks!
