Context for this post-we are very close to settlement - had a verbal agreement 4 weeks ago. There, your now in my shoes.

My problem is that my stbx came back to the offer we confirmed in writing that she now want more child support or that the numbers were calculated wrong. It’s at $1,100 for two kids with 50/50 custody. I make triple what she does.

But in the month waiting for them to respond, I have learned I will not get a bonus this year with drops my net income over $2k/month for child support calcs.

Plus she wants back child support, her atty fees paid and not to have to pay back medical bills for my child who was very I’ll over the past couple of years and I racked up $30k in bills.

My problem is I feel this could all be settled with a phone call from my atty but he’s a pussy and won’t pick up the phone. So things drag on and he forgets where we are all the time. He’s a big name atty, but he’s terrible.

I know if I got a new atty after 14 months, I could make progress, but it would take time. I know I don’t have to pay her atty fees because she has no need and she instigated the split. The back child support I could reduce because I’ve been paying her anyway for expenses.

Or I could agree to just pay the extra child support she wants and move one. Kids are 14 and 12 so it won’t be much longer.

God I fucking hate this bitch!

What do think Reddit. Dig in my heals and fight her, or submit and leave with my peace of mind?
