I'm coming from a place of an adult should be held accountable for being irresponsible regardless of whether they're a parent or not; this is not about me and my feelings about the situation. This is about society as a whole should not tolerate this behavior and it doesn't as apparent in the laws governing this situation - if a mother or father has to go away in handcuffs for being irresponsible, that's just what has to happen, and it's their fault for exposing their children to the fact that they cannot act responsibly and there are consequences in society for doing so.

Taking an entirely neutral perspective: If anyone causes an accident whilst under the influence which damages me, I would give exactly zero shits about whether they had children or not when I sued them.

Since you're pulling emotion into this, I'm curious, are you a woman?

Yeah I also let one of these moments just slip away. This was very soon after her executing a Silver Bullet with a shrug and a smile. Drunk as a skunk she was, like the old folks say.

It takes a while to realize how dirty she will play, even after she is clearly committed to her moral-less war.

(Remember the fear of “dirty bombs” during first Iraq war? Dirty bombs, dirty bombs everywhere…)

Re: trauma to the child comment, I’ve never heard anyone describe ANY tactic/strategy/betrayal done to dad as traumatic to the child(ten). Not implying bias on your part, but societal bias is strong here.

Reminds me of how something like mutual yelling instantly becomes domestic violence if she calls the police. If dad calls, he will probably still be politely asked to leave his home for the night.

A good time to say how utterly lost and bewildered I would have been without this sub. Appreciate everyone here.
