Here is what you do. Tough love.

You give her ONLY the court ordered temporary support.

Then she asks for more money, and you tell her "NO." Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm 100% sure my ex's new boyfriend will get a lovely Christmas gift purchased with support money I provided. You just have to accept the reality that it's not your money once the check gets cashed.

Don’t give her more money, yes she’s going to bad mouth you to the kids. So request a Children’s Bill of Rights as well as a Loving and Caring order.

If more money is needed for the kids, you buy them what’s needed when they are with you. Do not set a precedence of giving STBXW more money.

If possible: suggest the court to order all your communications with STBXW be in writing. Our Family Wizard is awesome, been using it for years tracks everything, and nothing can be deleted.

Don't give her any money and let her struggle then record everything and use it in court to get custody of your kids

Get the stuff your kid needs yourself if you feel her misuse to starving your kid. Keep receipts and make sure you OPEN them so they’re not returnable anywhere. Leave it at her doorstep. Don’t give her more than the court demands but take care of the kid.

Edit: Buy diapers, open the box & the plastic, place in a separate bag. Buy snacks in bulk, remove from original packaging and place in separate box. Repeat for everything.

There's no such thing as 'misuse' -- the money is hers to do whatever she wants with it. Don't give her a cent more than you're ordered to, and change your mindset to "not my circus, not my monkeys" when it comes to her spending. Block her on every non-court-ordered means of contact.

Why does no one care that she’s spending it on weed instead of the kids? Are you documenting this? Yes it’s her money, but if you’re in disagreement over custody, you probably have your golden ticket right there.
