So as some of you on here may know I was married 34 years and my wife decided she didn't want it anymore. No cheating on either side and no abuse. She had been dealing with depression and anxiety for decades and my guess is menopause hit her at about 50-51 just broke her.

Anyway after a long drawn out process and two months post divorce final it occurred to me the other day on the way home from work. I am okay! This is the first time I have truly been able to say it and mean it through this whole gut wrenching process. I go home, no drama, I do what I want and don't have to worry about upsetting her if I want to do something. I go home to a peaceful house and I love it. Sure I still miss her from time to time but its not just devastating to me like it used to be.

I also can't see myself never wanting to be in this situation again. Why would I invest so much time, energy and effort into a relationship that could be yanked out from underneath me again? It took me a long time to get to this point and don't want to go back. I am done with relationships and I am perfectly fine with that.

I hope this helps ground someone going through this shitstorm. Keep plowing through brothers.
