Just randomly sharing into the ether. Together 17 years, married 12 years, separated Oct '21, divorced Nov '22. I had been holding onto about 5 items from the marriage, including the ring. Donated or threw away everything else. I got rid of the last few items, but didn't know what do to with the ring.

I'm a private pilot and sense the divorce, finally bought a small plane (dream for 20 years). Yesterday, took a trip out over the mountains and in an unpopulated area, threw it out the window. When I mentioned this to others they of course made references to Mount Doom :)

The eX keeps dropping off trash (old belongings) at my front door and leaving. Has done it four times so far (over about 1.5 years), including several cat toys. I keep the cat toys and chuck the rest. Looking forward to paying off my spousal support and being truly done with her.
