After 17 of marriage to my(41m) wife(44f) I finally told her I wanted a divorce. I've been miserable for years, sure of this for months and the conversation tonight. Went as bad as expected. She took no responsibility. She admitted that she's never tried to have an uncomfortable/difficult conversation in our marriage because she doesn't like confrontation. Acknowledged that I've sat down to have many of them throughout the years. She admitted to needing therapy but never went and took her stress and anxiety out on me. But I'm apparently the a-hole. I'm apparently ruining our 2 kids lives by deciding this. I've put all the effort trying to make this work but now, after 17 years I'm the a-hole because I decided this and I'm not willing to work on it. It's too late!

She acknowledged she knew I've been unhappy the past year but did nothing to talk about it or do anything to help or improve, but I'm the jerk.

Sorry for venting. The next year is going awful. Tomorrow is going to be the worst. I know it's for the best.
