I'm(41M) having so much trouble initiating the talk with my wife(44F). I really think I was close this past weekend but we have kids and my daughter had plans that meant I couldn't have started the conversation till like 11:30pm at night. I almost got up out of bed to do it.

I had that fire in my belly Friday psyching myself up and tremendous nerves all Saturday. I really feel like I was close. I started therapy 3 weeks ago and my last session on the way out my therapist said "you got this". I kept playing it over in my mind. It's the only encouragement I've had in a long time for anything.

My main trouble isn't whether I'm certain it's right but feeling I need a case file of reasons to give my wife why I'm doing it.

This weekend my 9 year old son said something heartbreaking. My kids had a sporting event and only 1 person per family could go in because of space/covid reasons. My son said we could both go "just pretend you don't know each other, you guys never look at each other anyway"

For my kid's, I NEED to do this. They can't think this is what marriage is.
