The dating scene right now might be the worst dating scene in modern history, actually, between dating apps, female man haters being labeled as actual feminists, which is bullshit! And women’s now high level of cheating makes for a very dismal dating scene. However, I’ve met a few women that were really great! But only two that were extremely compatible with me, the sad thing is one of them just didn’t understand what monogamy was and the other one needed so much validation it became like a second job, there’s good women out there, man! But you were right by thinking that it takes a hell of a lot of work and a hell of a lot of, digging to find one, that would match your compatibility ,You may change your mind, but I can understand where you’re coming from as well. I really enjoy my singlehood right now, me and my dog and I do date and I still have a pretty good sex life with Rando women, but I would like to settle down with one bad ass woman eventually, but she’s got to prove herself first.

Went on my second date with a woman that I’ve already had sex with and really like, I knew she was a little bit introverted and that’s a problem for me, but she wanted to go to the farmers market on Saturday so I picked her up at noon and she was so frigging hung over she could barely keep her eyes open and obviously we weren’t gonna have sex because of it, after about three hours I drove her back to her car and just said she needed to go home and go to sleep, I haven’t texted her since. That’s the kind of nonsense. I’m talking about. if you come across that kind of crap, make sure to have boundaries and not put up with it.

F*ck the dating scene. No rush for that. Take it day by day. Make sure you keep working on yourself. You’re 40 man you have so much life to live. Be motivated to travel the world if you want. Remember that saying, “When you build it, they will come” or the Bible Genesis, God told Adam to tend to “his” garden. Keep doing you and focus. In due time brother, they will come….

My divorce is dragging on and is about to hit 100k in costs. No cupcakes for me for a long time plus I have two young boys so I’m not interested in the step mommy thing for them.

Moving towards divorce and will be 39 in September. I want another kid but would prefer to do it alone. I’ve actually always wanted to have kids with no mom to be honest, and with the cost of surrogacy in Latin America it’s doable

I will never get married again. Divorced for a year, 40s, no kids. I used to want them, but I was always unsure of how parenting with my ex wife would be. Dodged a bullet, would have been stuck dealing with her for life. Recently decided I don’t want little kids in my 50s and teens in my 60s, so I guess the ship has sailed. The risk of having to put my faith in a spouse just to have a family, who could then ruin it for a fleeting feeling, is too big a risk with the years I have left. No thanks.

My ideal future is living alone, with a dog, and spending time with friends and colleagues. Occupying my time with hobbies and interests, traveling, physical activities outdoors, etc. Not needing another person to validate me, but having casual relationships with women who I actually enjoy spending time with, who add to my life. Even if I find a special one that I want to be exclusive with, she’ll never move in. I’ve learned my peace is too valuable.

Separating myself. Turning 40 later this year. No kids. She’s leaving (again lol but this time for good). I’ve said before I’m not doing dating apps again and I’m sticking to that. No desire to date and even try to. Just gonna worry about myself and enjoy having no one to answer too. No responsibilities other than myself and work. Everything happens for a reason. Gonna enjoy life and see what happens. Kinda excited and not really depressed (as much as I thought) or worried about the future.

I’m right there with you. I got my final divorce papers last week and the thoughts of dating again are so repulsive to me it makes me sick thinking about it. I’m turning 39 this August and I want to work on me, make myself happy, and look out for myself. I spent the last 5 years taking care of this woman that I fell for hard. I worked my ass off making her happy and giving her everything at the expense of my own happiness and dreams. We were going to grow old together and she would say to me “please never leave”. Now she’s the one who left after I supported her through college and taking care of her kid from a previous relationship.

If I happen to find someone again then that’s great but I won’t be actively searching. You’re not alone wanting to stay single. Work on yourself and make yourself happy.

Yeah feel the same way. Hope your doing ok. There is much more out there than chasing women. Find peace and contentment. I do have two children though so they provide me with a true purpose and no matter what I have been through with their mother I would never regret having them.
