So I’m mid divorce. Same story as everyone, fighting, manipulation, found out she cheated I tried to forgive but she blamed me for her cheating and states it wasn’t wrong be “we were separated” we were living together but while we were separated, she conveniently started fooling with her “friend” who she denied any feelings for, for over 2 years. It was obviously my fault for not trusting her.

Anyways, I had to move out. Basically forced out. She flips, slams doors, screams, yells, gets violent, and curses in front of the kids. Nothing can stop her. So before I get the “you shouldn’t have ever left”, I feel like I had good reason.

So we are mid divorce and I’m living with my mother an hour away from my kids. They can’t stay nights with me because I’m so far away from their school, and no, I can’t do weekends anyways.

My issue is I have full intentions on moving back closer to my kids, but I’m stuck right now. I can’t do anything until our assets are divided. Once that’s done, I can’t figure out my finances and see what I have left over for a house or a mortgage.

Have any of you been stuck like this? What was the outcome? I intend to fight for 50/50 but living so far away and not having a place for them to have over nights, it’s an uphill battle. Courts don’t base child support or time sharing off of the “intent” to move closer.
