I’ve been quiet on this forum for a bit to take care of business. Long story short, I’m in Cambodia at the time of writing. I received an email from my attorney regarding the counteroffer, just as I’m wandering the night streets of Phnom Penh.

She’s agreed to reasonable terms, but with two major strikes against me. (1) She’s keeping the dog that I had years before her. I’ve made my peace with this. This would cost me a lot more money otherwise. (2) She wants the decree ASAP, which will cost me ~$10,000 in additional taxes when I file (losing joint status).

I’m ironing out the final kinks of this. The “wandering” of these night streets helped bring some clarity to the situation. Just wanted to get this out there and take a big sigh.
