You did say in another comment you asked if this was forever and she said she didn't know. Today is Wednesday. I'd text her tomorrow or give her a call and let her know she can think about it for 5...7 days. (3 weeks is more than enough)

You can word it appropriately how you want, but let her know that

yes=yes,

no=no,

I don't know=no,

I'm not sure=no,

I need more time =no. As far as how you're going to plan your life going forward.

No need to let her string you along for months keeping you as plan B.

Not to echo others too much, but you really don't need to worry about her coming back. She won't, and the only reason she would is if EVERY other option is exhausted, and then she'd only be back to use you as a warmer until she could find ANY other option.

Which, you wouldn't want that even if it came up.

So, you can engage the logic and focus on 'it's over' rather than 'what if I do XYZ, should i text her, should I ABC?'

It is OK to do some self reflection. It will make you a better man for the next relationship.

Women are creatures sometimes very different from men. They never forget how they felt from past hurts. It is like they have a magic number of times that you can hurt them and once you hit that number it is like a light switch and they no longer have feelings for you. The past hurts are relived and revised to magnify the hurt and it is virtually impossible to do anything to change the way they feel. That is why the pick me dance is counterproductive and even causes them to lose respect for you.

So if she left you for cause you should just consider it done and over. Move on.

This is a bit different from the walkway wife but even there the pick me dance doesn’t work. Sometimes the reality of being on your own and the loss of a supportive husband can bring them out of their mental fog especially if you stop showing any interest in them so that they know you can not be counted on as plan B.

I’ve really struggled with this since my divorce (working on 2 years ago). Honestly, a real part of me still wants her. I’ve finally realized it’s not worth the energy. Take a moment and ask yourself these questions… be honest with yourself.

If she did come back… 1. Could you have a relationship free of fear that she wouldn’t do this again?

Do you think there would be no resentment from you? Sure, at first you’d be happy as hell… I mean long term
Could you get over the fact that she fucked other guys (I’m assuming this has or will happen soon)?
Would you look at her with the same love you’ve had before?

You might be able to answer yes to some of those but I doubt you can to all. IMO if you can’t answer yes to all… it’ll never work. I’d like to believe I could answer yes to all of them. For me, it’s 1 and 2 that I don’t think I could conquer.

I feel bad for guys who go this route, but it’s their own fault.

Once she’s gone, she’s gone forever.

Stop dwelling on the past and start to move forward with your life.

It obviously wasn’t meant to be.

She’s far from the only woman in the world, and you have yet to meet the right one.

Being a sobbing, sad sack of a dude is not good for anyone, especially you. It’s most certainly not going to win her back, nor is it going to attract someone new.

You’ve got the rest of your life ahead of you, and there’s a whole world out there which you have a place in.

Go find that place.

get a gym membership. heal for 1-2 years. find another woman.

Never do the pick me dance. Pretty much sure nearly everyone else here has done it and no one recommends it.

Focus on yourself and your children if you have any. Get a gym membership today if you don’t have one now. The gym gives you something to focus on while you’re by yourself and also puts you around others. Seeing progress is a great moral booster and teaches you patience.

Embrace the suck and focus on your journey. In the future you will be proud of yourself for the way you’re handling this. You’re worthy and you are valuable. Don’t let someone else’s rejection let you forget that
