Happy to say my meditation which took over 8 hours have been successfully closed. Result is ok, house is mine, her debt is hers my is mine, same for the cars. Division was 50/50 of my savings and investments. Had to give up some 401K beyond 50% to offset the house. No kids so no custody and CS. No alimony either. Tips: - division of investments will be 50/50 of actual stocks which will keep gains and losses for both of us. So no tax implication for me or unpredictable number to give up. - 401k QDRO so no tax as well - first agree on big numbers that are part of division. In my case it was hard to agree on properly value even with professional assessment on hand. - second play big numbers first on how to divide them and then play buy outs to adjust these numbers. We throw all small items from discussion things like HSA, small checking accounts. Everything less than $5K. All because of that the next step will be trial which would cost over $20k for each. As we passed a message that no mediation will be in the future.
