I’m spiraling right now.

My wife left about two years ago. We’ve been in the process of a divorce since 11/23. The divorce was supposed to be fairly amicable since neither of us wanted anything from the other.

We have two children and split time with them 50/50. Both of us want what’s best for them and that’s really all that’s mattered to me through the entire process.

She lives with another man that she started dating shortly after our separation.

I have chosen to stay single and get my own shit handled.

Our parenting agreement that has been filed listed her as 51% for school/medical purposes. We have both had an agreement that we’re each financially capable of taking care of the kids so we wouldn’t ask the other person for anything.

My lawyer has been terrible through the process and lacks communication. I’ve felt all along that he cares more about my wife than me.

She took a $35k pay cut to work closer to home after our separation. I started a business and busted my ass because I was now supporting a house on one income and needed to be able to buy a new house soon.

Prior to our separation she made $95k while I made $60k. Now I make roughly $100k and she makes $60k.

I was just told at our financial meeting that I’m going to be paying $1800/month for child support and health care.

This will financially ruin me in an area where $100k barely keeps food on the table. She still has two incomes.

She claims that she’s told her lawyer she doesn’t want support but her lawyers are saying the courts will award it anyway.

We’re in Illinois.

Do I have ANY options here? We just got through a bankruptcy and im doing everything I can to plan for a new home but its looking like im going to be poor for the rest of my life with no hopes of retiring.
