As part of our agreement, the non-custodial parent is entitled to call to talk to the kids every day. We usually do a video call each night in the evenings. Sometimes it's 30 seconds, sometimes it's 5 minutes. It isn't much, but it is nice to see my kids.

When my boys are with her, I call them at the same time every night.

I take my son to baseball two nights a week and I’m allowed to help with home work everyday if I want to. I either go to their house or they can come by me for two hours.

For me it’s been great. I call them when I want, she calls them when she wants. If she wants to come over and see them, that’s fine, as long as she stays out of my bedroom. If I want to go over and see them it’s the same. I get invited to the bedroom, don’t go to the bedroom.

I think it all comes down to the individuals and their experience with their divorce. Ours wasn’t easy, but at the end of the day our mindset is kids first. They’re used to seeing and talking to the two of you everyday I’m assuming, why should that change because two adults can’t be together anymore? Don’t go to the bedroom though, don’t do it. Stay out that damn bedroom.
