These people always act so smug when it comes to men's issues. When it's women's problems or experiences, you must always listen to women and be sympathetic. When it's men's problems, suddenly everyone is qualified to talk over men and minimize their issues because they know better than them apparently. Even when they pretend to care they still manage to come off as extremely smug and unlikeable.

Acknowledging the other side's point of view is a good idea. You won't ever change anyone's mind if all you do is preach to the choir. So, say what you need to say to make it happen. Any money that ends up being spent on vulnerable men is a win, and any efforts towards that outcome are very much appreciated.

This is all self-interest. There's a lot of this bullshit around post-election. It is part driven by fear of the election results and part driven by a desire to appear virtuous. None of it has any real substance and needs to be called out for the bullshit it is.
