A bunch of things. A lot of the behaviors they have go ukder stalking behavior so you can take a lot from why that hapoens and translate it, but genreally its things like: Bad social skills, low self worth, idealization, straight up love (both passionate and compassionate), false expectations from movies, no one telling them its bad/family encuraging it, lack of pleasure in life, etc.

Fear of missing out. We all have social media, we've all seen all the romantic tropes in the movies. Women are seen as mysterious, ethereal beings who "fix" all men's problems. You're only half a person if you're not in a relationship. We all get fed the same old bs, some of us just take it to heart and that's unfortunate. You are a whole person on your own, you are all you need. Learn to enjoy your own company. That way you can enjoy the relationships in your life as an enhancement of your happiness rather than a life support system. I don't mean this to you personally, op, I mean it in the royal sense.

On another note, I’ve never felt threatened or significantly bothered by so-called “simps”. Sometimes they can be cute. I’ve had friends that had good relationships with guys like that because they’re willing to be loving and devoted.

The problem I have is with arrogant, entitled men who think that my sex is the lesser sex and that they are entitled to a woman’s body. My compassion ends there. I generally see excessive confidence as a serious red flag, there. It is an indication that someone possibly lacks morality, and I have no use for a man like that. In fact, I’d argue society doesn’t generally have much use for them as a whole. Maybe in the military…lol.

The behavior you’re describing is driven by narcissism and entitlement. A rejection is simply not acceptable to them so they’ll do anything to reverse said rejection. My theory..

I think it comes from “objectification”, which to my way of thinking, is essentially defined by disassociation.

You see this in people who are socially awkward and live largely isolated lives. It is often accompanied by social fear, anxiety, and passive aggressive or evasive behaviors.

The emotional portions of the brain are overriding areas responsible for higher level human thinking, resulting in a person who is operating more in terms of “stimulus, response” than truly thinking about what they are saying or doing, or how their behaviors make others feel.

The reason they aren’t thinking about how others think and feel is because, in their mind, others are unrelatable to their own experience of the world. They have no practice with using social intelligence by way of effective interactions, so those neurons are underdeveloped.

A lot of this can come about, I personally think, from some of the more toxic male-centric advice, which maintains that females are an “alien species”, that they don’t think and feel the way that men do, and that in order to get what you want, you have to trick, cheat, deceive, or otherwise play a “game”.

People who absorb this advice with little social exposure (especially to the opposite sex, as is often encouraged by the more toxic male-centric social circles), end up alienating themselves from other people and refusing to use empathy to enhance their social intelligence.

Because the bulk of human intelligence is compounding, you end up with an intellectually stunted individual who now struggles to connect with other people.

It’s actually very sad, and worthy of your compassion, because I don’t think many of these men are coming from a malicious place in their hearts.

Like everyone, they want to be loved. However, somewhere (likely early on in their teenage cognitive development), they took a left turn…probably out of a place of feeling fear at the idea of never being loved and accepted…and that put them significantly behind the curve in terms of social intelligence.

The antidote to this is very simple. The brain is incredibly plastic. If these people learn to humanize women and realize that women are people just like they are, they will stop viewing them like objects, goals, or things to be manipulated and used.

If you think of it, most humans do this. Racist people do it to other races. Genuinely decent human beings also have a tendency to do this to animals. While animals shouldn’t be “humanized”, they do still share the basic primitive emotions and instincts that humans have - we are also animals. Dogs can experience humiliation and can laugh. The orangutans we keep locked in cells get very bored and intellectually apathetic, and enjoy watching video footage - especially if it is of them.

So yes, we do this. We’re designed to, as all mammals are. However, when we do this to our own kind it is justly considered dysfunctional, and the symptom of a poorly developed brain in the social and empathetic regions.

To give you one final example of this kind of behavior…you can see a similar social disconnect in people who have autism or psychopathy. (Actual neurological psychopathy…not this weird media trope embodied by Dexter the serial killer)

The difference is that autistic people tend to put a lot of effort and work into overcoming their social limitations, and can see a lot of success.

The “simp” as you phrased it in your undesirable speech patterns, does not change this, because they do not see it as a problem in themselves, but rather, an inability on behalf of the rest of the world to accept them for who they are.

This feeling that you are not accepted for you is what leads them to manipulative and destructive behavioral patterns as they reduce life to an apathetic, cruel “game” and try to devise “strategies” for how to take advantage of others.

But again, I am of the opinion that we should feel compassion rather than disgust. We all have our neurological shortcomings and challenges to face in life, and many of us find them hard to own up to.

These men are just people who really want to be loved, appreciated, and respected by someone they can trust and bring happiness to.

Is that such a bad motivation to have?

And yes, I’m aware the sex drive is involved, but that is just the excuse men use to mask the deeper need for human belonging that all humans have in common, because that is the secret to the success of our species.

Sadly it’s a lack of social training. I honestly don’t think most of these guys have ill intent. I think they just have absolutely zero emotional intelligence and absolutely can’t read the room.

An example; a lot of men complain about cold approaches. I’ve never had a problem with cold approaches, actually met my current gf that way. When I cold approach a woman I can tell within 2-3 seconds whether she wants me there or not. And if she doesn’t, then I move it along. I really didn’t grasp how much of a problem this had become until several years back when I was chatting with a co-worker in her early 20’s at lunch and she told me several horror stories that had happened to her recently at the gym and laundromat.

There has been an epidemic of male isolation for quite awhile now. If a person spends a decade mostly entirely by themselves then they can very easily come out creepy, weird and desperate.

I think this is more common among certain cultures. I don’t know why but I’ve experienced this the most from Indian men. Not all of course, but there’s a certain type. It seems to involve complete disregard for what the woman wants or feels, and perhaps their logic is if they are persistent then they’ll wear down your or the next girl’s boundaries enough to get a taste of gratification.

I’ve also heard that men get a boost of testosterone by interacting or flirting with attractive (to them) women. This could be the breath of life for a guy who’s not as physically or financially robust. Perhaps subconsciously they are desperate to raise their T so that they might have more reproductive success. Actually seeing it this way helped me to be more forgiving (though not permissive) of this type of behavior. I just think “oh, he’s doing that survival thing”.

Honestly, women do it too. We all crave connection, attention, and validation to varying degrees. It doesn't really vary by sex so much as it varies by the individual.

Honestly, there’s so many guys who lack social skills and just haven’t learned any, maybe not had the opportunity to learn, or lack the innate awareness. It’s difficult for them in some ways, because they’re compelled towards what they want and there was never anywhere respectable for them to learn properly. It’s certainly not something we’re formally taught. Attracting a partner is hard and who’s out there teaching? The pick up artist community, that’s who. And their ethics are 99% awful. Honestly, I’d love to read someone’s ethical approach to this subject, but I don’t think it exists. Neil Strauss was the best writer in that genre and he was embarrassed to be associated with it for good reason and he moved on from it a very long time ago. Anyways, yeah, these guys have to educate themselves and there’s no where respectable for them to learn that I’m aware of.
