I think age is very important here.

As other commenters have said, if they started dating in high school or undergrad, then this is fine. In fact, I think it's almost preferred...especially since 20s are time for exploration and growing into yourself.

If they were over 24 when they first met then this is too long.

How old are they? The only time I wouldn’t totally side eye this is if they’re high school sweethearts and wanted to finish post secondary education first.

What does everyone think is a good timeline to know if he’s marriage material/he should propose? I think minimum one year and maximum two. Anything longer, and he’s just not into you.

My boyfriend proposed on our 2nd year anniversary but I told him we need more time. Just because someone isn’t engaged doesn’t mean the man hasn’t proposed before? I am just someone who really wants to thinks something through before making big decisions.
