I've been slowly deleting mine. I was on Match, Luxy, Bumble, and Hinge, and I deleted the first two, because they were trash men (Match) or fake profiles (Luxy).

I'm sifting through the current matches on the last two, but with little enthusiasm. I've been on dates every night for the past week, so I'm becoming more picky about with whom I spend time. I just cancelled Thursday's date, because he seemed negative when we spoke on the phone. So I noped on outta there; that's not the person I want in my world.

I'm becoming more assertive about rejecting men whose energy and vibe doesn't match mine. I don't have time to fix men, I want someone who is already at my level. My time is the most precious resource that I have, so I'm protecting my time and only seeing men in whom I have genuine interest, and who can add value to my life.

3 won't message at all, they were just there for validation, beeps, collecting matches, cheating on wife, jerking off to pics etc.

1 will be crude or just stomp on his dick straight up with "WHERE ARE YOU" "COME OVER" etc.

3 will be absolutely pathetic at conversation, either dead ending all your questions, 1 word answers, no flow, bizarre misunderstandings, or just plain low IQ.

2 might actually be adequate for an hour or so, maaaybe set up a date, then slowly flake over the next few days and never meet because they're chickenshit.

1 might actually make it to the date but you realize his pics were 10 years old where he didn't have grey hair and a fat gut.

If you actually want to "have fun", online dating is not where the "fun" men are.

I met my current bf through a dating app. I use them all the time since to me dating is a way to learn new people, explore new things, etc. And you can get a lot of different flavors of people quite quickly without anyone expecting commitment. However, i wouldnt use it if your endgame is commitment. I tend to find people are on dating apps for a reason. Either its fine intentions like mine, or trying to meet new people when you move to a new area... But you get the fuck boys looking for ONS and will complain to you about women.

Its a real crapshoot. You also have to be very careful.

I use them every so often. It's how I met my abusive, narcissistic ex. But he was my worst real life experience with OLD.

Typically I get bored with them quickly and log off for months. The guys on there are 99% idiots or awful humans.

If I don't want to constantly be messaged, I use Ok Cupid. They changed their format to only allow messages from guys you officially like. I go through and pass on any guy who has stupid or sexual pictures. I pass on stupid, shitty, or absent bios. I pass on guys who click hookups or non monogamy. I'm very picky. I don't message guys first either. Personal preference. Anytime I have, I've regretted it.

If I want a bunch of hi/how are you/hows the weather messages or rude, nasty messages I use PoF.

You have to wade through literally hundreds of bad or boring messages to find someone interesting. And even that guy will most likely be a flake that eventually ghosts.

And you have to be careful. I'm usually really good at weeding out the bad ones. The abusive narcissist slipped through with his good guy act and kept that up for about three months. He was ugly, so my guard was down lol. I was in love by the time he showed me who he really was. Boy was that heartbreaking. But I learned from it.

I looked at Match.com today. It's over $50 for one month or $145 for six. GTFO! So I went back on OKC just to browse. Talked to a guy about a couple good authors, but he didn't have anything else interesting to say lol. Imagine finally getting a woman to respond and you don't even try lol.

I have a good social life, but I'm not meeting quality men that way. And honestly I don't give af at this point. My sex drive went down and I'm very content as a single woman. I've had let down after let down AFTER LET DOWN when I try to date. Low effort, hot and cold wastes of time. I'm doing online dating more for something interesting to do than for a way to find "the one". I'm not getting remarried or having more kids, so that pressure is gone.

Anyway, good luck if you try it. Try not to roll your eyes too hard at some of the profiles, pictures, and messages these idiots think are acceptable.

Most of them are a hellscape.

If you can meet potential dates IRL, do it. Find MeetUps or join a recreational sports league, or a church if that’s your thing.

Online dating was hell and it’s only getting worse. I had to disconnect to keep my sanity.

I’ve been on and off dating apps for the past few months. I’m on again right now after seeing my friends having success on them, but I’m not that optimistic about it.

If something good does come out of it, that’s good. But otherwise I wouldn’t count on it.

I can’t find anyone who would be a good match for me on OLD. Not even me finding them good, I can’t tell they won’t find me a good fit for them. It’s hard when you’re the type of women who hates sports, camping, hiking, live music and that’s all men care bout or talk about in their bios.

Dating apps are great if you’re in it for practice; i.e its helpful to date a variety of men to figure out some of the similar games they play or to find out what genuine emotion looks like. Would not recommend for serious or long term.

All this education while getting free meals: not a terrible deal sis!
