It's totally understandable why you would want to; After dealing with trash after trash after trash, you finally come across a decent guy. He's not 100%, but he's the best you've dealt with so far..

Maybe he's one of the rare, actually good men who doesn't watch porn...But he dismisses your emotions, calls you over-dramatic, etc.

Maybe he's attentive and loving when you're sick, on your period, he's your bedside nurse..But he doesn't pick up after himself, he leaves you to clean all the messes. You tell him something and he says he'll "do it later", but always forgets. Leaving you to be the mommy maid.

Maybe he's supportive, he's excited for you when you get accepted into a tough college, he celebrates with you when you get a promotion, etc. He cleans up after himself, he pays for things he should. And so on...But if you hint that you want a break, or to break up, he says he might as well just kill himself.

Don't do it. It's incredibly hard not to. From my experience, I especially felt this way with a supportive boyfriend who didn't watch porn, but he still dismissed my feelings, was emotionally manipulative, and didn't help around the house and I was still miserable. This is why it's incredibly important to love yourself and the time you have alone, so when you snip off what you think is the "best you'll get" it'll hurt less. A HV man should never have you feeling miserable, discarded, and unimportant. This is supposed to be your LIFE partner, a long-term committed relationship with another person, they SHOULD be perfect. People will have slip-ups, some are excusable and can be worked through with support, sometimes we need to recognize when a slip-up is a small detail to a bigger issue and is not workable with.

One green flag does not excuse 1 - 2 other red flags.
