First date tonight since a bad breakup and finding FDS. Met via OLD. He asked. He planned it. He confirmed days in advance. He offered to pick me up but also understands if I prefer to drive separately. So far...good signs. Any tips? Things to look for?

Good signs if he keeps it light hearted and fun. Don’t get too invested too soon.

Also don’t be obvious when screening him for his career, social standing etc. It will happen naturally.

Bad signs is if he is pushing for sex quickly, is flat broke, is unhygienic, talks bad about people, opens up about baggage etc. just normal obvious things. Follow your gut sis.

Update: We went and had a really nice time! We sat at this restaurant for about three hours just talking and enjoying one another. We were planning to go to this fun spot after dinner but I’ve had a headache for two days, and I told him I just really didn’t want to cancel on him but also didn’t feel up to the second thing. He was so sweet. He picked up the check, walked me to my car, asked to see me again, asked me to text when I got home safely, and waited for a clear sign I wanted a good night kiss.

We talked business, family, politics, work, all sorts of things. He’s super smart and interesting. No awkward silences. I think a second date is definitely in order!

Just a warning to you, even though these things are definitely signs of a HVM, still keep yourself safe and trust your gut instinct.

I recently went on a date (friend of a friend, so you’d think that would be safer) and he planned the whole date days in advance. He even drove me home afterwards (not far but the date had gone really well). We really hit it off and he seemed like a great guy. Unfortunately in the next few dates he became really obsessive about me, though he never got physical with me. When I called it off he started stalking me and has been for the last few months. I’ve had to threaten him with the police just to get him to stop. It’s a shame too because in the beginning all the right signs were there, but I definitely dodged a bullet with that one.

The planning days in advance is so important to me... most men will text hours before and that’s almost a dealbreaker for me, anyways have fun and let us know how it goes ❤️
