I also got divorced today (congratulations!).

There were two couples, two women, and one boy in my court session. I say “boy” because he was a minor and got married to a girl that he got pregnant and they’re already getting divorced. His mommy had to bring him to court to petition.

I have many divorced friends. Without exception, we all initiated the divorce, for good reason and after long and painful deliberation.

Debating divorce right now. Have been on and off for the past year. His recent actions solidified my desicion. ...I read a fact that women usually think about it 7 years before finally doing it... I'm not waiting that long.

He's a GENERALLY good person but I'm trying to save my kids and the damage it may cause them. Reading books and ways to help them now and then during when I leave husband, that's my only worry through it all.

Women are happier single because we meet our needs alone. We grow up. Men's needs can't be met alone unless they actually cook/clean/have a social life and get good sex. Which rarely happens with them....look at MGTOW most miserable bunch of single men out there lol.

I think some of this is that men are lazy. When women want something, they get it done, while men will just dick around forever. My ex-husband wanted the divorce too but wouldn’t file because he didn’t want to do the work of initiating it.

In general, men get way more out of marriage than women. Free maid, nanny, etc. Lots of women get sucked into these kinds of marriages and the smart ones get out.

Also, even men that want out and cheat never actually leave their wives. They try to gaslight her into it, or just stick around because again, free childcare, free chef and free house cleaner. Glad you got out sis.

No man is way better than a LVM.

Mine was finalized in December. He left me for another woman, but then dragged his feet and did nothing. I know people so got a deal from a divorce attorney friend and filed. We had to completely drag him into the process, even though nothing was contested and we settled in about fifteen minutes when we finally got him to the table. He is incredibly passive aggressive and I feel like it was his way of exercising control because I had no problem jumping in and taking care of things. I think he thought I should feel bad or something but I had a decade too much of his bullshit and couldn't get things done fast enough. Things did not work out with his new girlfriend, btw. She booked as soon as I was out of the house. I think he took her laughing at his jokes for actual interest in him (she was about fifteen years younger and very attractive and he's ... not).

But that's why I was the Petitioner.

For the men who do initiate divorce, what are their reasons? Do we know? I’m curious. My very limited experience includes dating a guy who was married, claimed he was leaving his wife, and then actually did. I left him too because he was a complete nightmare, I just don’t understand why he ever left his wife in the first place. He pays out the butt in child support and alimony, as she maintains SAHM status. Three kids, one special needs. From what I gathered he never did much of the child rearing anyways. He claimed he deserved to find his happiness and not stay stuck with his wife who never paid attention to him. Typical reason, I’m just surprised he actually went through with the divorce.

came here to congratulate you on your divorce!! I got divorced 3 months ago. Directly after the judge declared my ex-LVM-husband and I officially done it was as if 10000lbs. lifted off my chest. It literally felt like I was floating out of that courtroom and levitating off the ground. It almost makes me want to get married again just so I can experience that liberation all over again. (Just kidding, f-that never getting married again)
