I had to take it twice and never got offered the cost to be covered even for half. But asking them to get me the pill never crossed my mind because: 1. Some men would rather “wait it out” and get you to abort if you’re pregnant.

You have to take it ASAP and most men don’t have the urgency to go get it for you quickly.

My most recent ex didn’t even want to spend time to get tested so we could do it without condom but would complain all the time about wearing one.

Geez I’ve dated terrible men and hope one day I can confidently feel like my man would get the pill for me if needed and not ask for half (that’s petty btw).

I cant believe there was even a debate over a $45 emergency contraception pill. You wanna know how much a month of baby food and diapers will cost you? Or a medical abortion (once you figure in the absurd distance you'll likely travel and possible mandatory waiting period)? Birth control is a joint responsibility of a couple but like... a guy trying to split the cost of the pill 50/50 is weird, but I've always found the strict 50 split in a serious relationship to be weird.

She's the one who has to deal with the side effects and risk, so he should pay for it really.
